OMP International and Dionne Warwick Concert

  • Just received an email from OMP International...remember them? It's been a long time! They say that their admin dept (if it exists, it has to be one of the most inefficient around) has notified them that a few of us have not yet been refunded, and that they will "amend this matter swiftly". We'll see.
No response yet from Halifax on a Visa debit card refund, either.

  • Hi I am afraid I am well behind you, I turned up to the Alexander Palace on Friday evening for the concert to find out it wasnt happening!!!

I have tried to get hold of OMP and sent emails to liverock, to no avail. I bought 4 tickets back in January, they sent me a confirmation letter telling me to bring the letter with me on the night. How dumb am I? Any suggestions on getting my money back will be greatly appreciated
  • Hi all

I purchased 2 x tickets for £98.00 for this concert in November 2008 via the Liverock UK website. I immediately emailed the company following the transaction as I noticed that the address on my paypal account was out of date. I received a swift response to confirm my address had been updated and tickets would be sent to that address.

I have to admit I was a little wary of purchasing tickets from Warner Live as I hadn't heard of them before, however felt reassured to find the date they were offering tickets for was also being advertised on Dionne Warwicks official webpage. I can't remember now if there was a link from her website to Liverock UK? as it was so long ago but I do remember I couldn't find any other vendors offering tickets for her concert.

I moved house in February 2009 and in March/April I emailed Warner Live to notify them of my change of address, and didn't receive a response. I emaled again in May and again didn't receive a response. I emailed again in June and began to get increasingly concerned and started to do a few searched on the internet under the various names they go by. It was then that I found this forum and everyones similar experiences listed.

I checked Dionne Warwicks website again and my heart sank when I saw that on 31st July 2009 it now stated she would be at a 'private' concert in San Antonio TX. I looked at both the Alexandra Palace and Hammersmith Apollo websites and soon realised that there wasn't a Dionne Warwick concert scheduled.

I again emailed Liverock UK asking for an explanation and why I hadn't received a refund and again didn't receive a response.

I logged a dispute with paypal, knowing full well that it would be closed instantly due to the fact that I was out of the time period allowed to open disputes. (you have to open a dispute within 45 days of the transaction taking place) I pointed out to paypal that it was impossible for me to do so as I couldn't see into the future when I purchased the ticket and I obviously hadn't anticipated that my ticket weren't going to arrive until near the supposed concert date.

So here I am £98.00 out of pocket and very disappointed and angry. The reason I write this post is in hope that I can get a few people to help me. I have found out from paypal that they reserve the right to investigate a company or vendor if they receive 'multiple' complaints about that company. (They wouldn't confirm exactly how many they class as 'multiple'.

I wondered if there is anyone else that is out of pocket and paid for these tickets via paypal? It looks from this thread as if there are.

If you could take the time to write a complaint about OMP International to Paypal they may investigate them? If you are able to do this I would really appreciate it if you could log on to this forum and confirm that you have written a complaint. If I get more than 5 people confirming they have complained, I will then contact paypal again to find out if they consider it viable to investigate after receiving 5 + complaints. Surely 5+ constitutes 'multiple' complaints?!?!?

I have also written a complaint to Watchdog, however do not hold out much hope as it seems they have recently done a piece on online ticket fraud, so they may be reluctant to investigate individual situations? I am guessing that the more complaints they receive about a particular company the more likely they are to investigate. So again, if you have the time it would be great if you could go on there to put a brief outline of your situation. It doesn't take long as they only want a brief overview and will contact you if they require further information. Its worth a try?!?!
I am unable to post links, however if you search Watchdog in Google the website will come up.

I know its a longshot but I have also written to Dionne Warwicks website to find out if they have had any dealings with OMP International, Liverock UK or Warner Live and also to find out about the date that was advertised and then changed without being re-scheduled.

I will of course update on here if I get any further information or news.

Many thanks in advance for those of you that take the time to complain to paypal or watchdog. I look forward to hearing from you on here if you do so! :T

I am determined to get my money back. I hate being ripped off or taken for a mug!!

    Good Luck everyone
    KLO

I'm sorry but i'm starting to become a rather tad cynical here.
Having tried to send an e-mail off with the relevant details to the above e-mail addy and it comes back with an delivery failure and with attachments to it that are not recognized.
Now my apologies if this is genuine, no upset meant, but unfortunately i trust no-one now.
  • Hi Romeo47,

My email address is correct but please do not click on the link. For some reason Money Saving Expert.com changes it to .co.uk

Please TYPE or copy & paste dionnewarwickticketscam@hotmail.com into your "To:" email address bar.

Look forward to receiving your details.

    Kind regards
  • I sent an email to hairyeel, somewhat belatedly, I'm afraid, and then forgot all about it. I've just realised that I didn't get a reply. I assume that was because I was too late, but I'd be interested to know if anything came of the CID enquiry (or anything else).
