    I'm on ESA and do get a disability premium but i think that's cos there is no-one to claim CA for me.

    Not sure why'd you lose the Carer's aspect of it if you changed to ESA, i was sure you could claim both?

    You cannot get disability premium on ESA. Its been abolished.

    You may get SDP and/or EDP.

    Severe disability premium

    You or your partner must satisfy all of the following:

    * be receiving the care component of disability living allowance (middle or higher rate) or attendance allowance
    * live alone
    * no one else must be getting carer's allowance for looking after you

    There is a couple rate if both of you qualify.

    Enhanced disability premium

    You or your partner must satisfy one of the following:

    * be in the support group
    * be under age 60 and receiving the high rate care component of disability living allowance

    If you have a partner you will be paid a higher couple rate of this premium.

    thanks for that.
  • If you are awarded Income Related ESA this wont effect your HB/CTB you will get the same amount on ESA as you did on IS as they are both passported.
