Totally agree with you Lee and Nationwide are one of these few institutions that do give a reason as to why or why they won't pay out under financial hardship which usually is an amount going back 12 months. It doesn't come as a surprise that this has come to light though but I do hope the call centre worker is not leaking more info(or is being extremely careful in what they are doing) cos the bank will try and trace the source and sack them.0

MSE Guy can you confirm whether that exceptions list relates to one period of charges ie one days charges, one months charges or more?
The more I read the article about the document the less convinced I am that this is not bank wide common policy ie within every banks' refund policy.0 -
Why exactly is a Nationwide error a "hardship" case.
If they believe in penalty charge and they have fouled up then they should be paying you.0 -
