Combi Boiler vs Convection Heater

Hello,
I write this message with chilly hands whilst I work from home this week, desperate for a quick answer so I can get some heat back in the room.
I've got a combi boiler which to be honest isn't sounding great so may well be on its last legs. So rather then put more strain on the boiler during the days I wondered if it would be worth getting a small electric convection heater for the room for an hour sparingly throughout the day. I don't want to start turning radiators off as I'm not too confident in the system to be honest.
So which option will be cheaper, the combi boiler for a 2 bed house or a convection heater in one room - both for about 2 hours during the day?
If it's close I'll go for the convection heater but if that's going to be mega expensive then perhaps I'll have to go with the boiler and just cross those chilly fingers...
Thanks for your help! Rob
