Secondly, your computer may have created a crash dump at the time in which case in the folder C:\Windows\Minidump you should have some files ending with .dmp. If you can email them over to me I can analyse them to see if there was any information recorded as to which driver may have caused the corruption.
Been having similar problems as the OP (i.e Blue error screen, computer shutting down & occasional clicking sound).
A Windows Error Report came up with 2 iffy looking files to check:
One file ending in .dmp which (with your help), i found in the Minidump file........but like the OP, i cannot open it.
The other file ends in .xml (?????).
Recently done a Seatools Hard drive check on my hard drive, which passed all the tests, so not quite sure what the problem is.
Any advice greatly appreciated, including how to open those 2 files.0 -
I'll take a look at these a bit later on in the afternoon if you email them as attachments to me. PM me for my email address.0

Try using this to analyse your minidump files.0

I've backed everything up onto an external hard drive & ran a few anti spyware/virus programs, defragged the computer etc. last week.
Haven't had any problems (within the last 4 or 5 days or so) with the clicking or Blue error screen - until now.
Tried to burn some Music onto a CD and the dreaded Blue screen came up again.
There was no clicking noise this time though.0 -
I was sure I'd replied to this.
I saw issues in the dump file relating to CD/DVD drive, which you've confirmed with your last post.
Do you have any software that creates a Virtual drive?
Do you have your Windows CD available?0 -

I use itunes (Quicktime).
A few weeks back i re-installed the latest Realplayer - so not sure if it could be something to do with that (?).
Thinking about it now, after re-installing Realplayer....... around that time the clicking & Blue screen started to happen.0
