Marmite comes in an unique style jar which can cause you to leave some in the jar when it appears to be empty and thus waste some of this wonderful product.
When your Marmite becomes low in the jar place the jar in a bowl of jug of hot water the Marmite will slide out of its hidden places and settle at the bottom of the jar, remove from hot water you can then continue to use tha Marmite for a few more servings.
Spread thickly on buttered toast, Mmmm lovely!

i do the hot water thing, also do that with ketchup bottles, makes the sauce really nice for sausage casserole:) Jam or marmalade will all come out of the jar if u microwave it for 10 seconds.
Then of course you will be saving the jars for making jam or pickles won't you...;)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

A tip I got from watching Nigella Lawsons tv programme:
To make marmite easy to spread mix up a spoonful of marmite with some margarine/butter, makes it look a bit like peanut butter! No need to butter bread first eitherOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Can't stand Marmite on toast, but love it as a hot drink.....anyone else do this? I sometimes add a dollop of tomato sauce to it, it's scrummy!0

When I was a vegetarian, I used to make gravy with vegetable juices, cornflower, and Marmite.0
