  • Thanks, after sleeping on it, it seems like too good to be true especially as the cheap flights are always from London . Even Emirates and Singapore from looking for our flights this year, never went as low as this so I'm really tempted.

That's exactly what I've done. Booked flights departing end March and returning May for £582.71 (after Topcashback from Manchester). I think this is a good deal, well pleased.

Gosh that is a good deal, considering how far you are going there and back.

  • Just a 'bump' really as in the last 24 hours, alot of the prices around the dates I've booked have gone up on Qatar website. Most are now around £629 mark, so if you are still looking for Manchester to Melbourne sub £600 be quick!!!!

We want to go either in November/December of this year or January/Feb next year.

Any ideas when is cheaper? November seems to come in at around £680 per person.

Do even economy flights have good inboard entertainment?

As Dec/Jan is Christmas and holiday time in Australia, prices will be higher to reflect this. If you can hang on late Feb/March (I think) would be a better time to go.

That said, £680 for November is pretty good, bearing in mind that I paid just over £900pp for November tickets last year.

I have flown to Aus with Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Emirates. THey all have seat-back entertainment which you can control to choose what you want to watch/do. I find the service with Qantas the best, but that is just a personal preference. I would choose primarily based on price and flight times/duration.
