MSE news: House prices rise marginally, says Land Registry
"Property prices rose nominally in England and Wales during June, according to the Land Registry index.
Typical values were up 0.1%, meaning the average property price is now £153,046. Prices are down by 14% compared to this time last year..."

11:15 28Jul09 Land Registry says UK house prices rose 0.1% in June
(07/28) The UK [Land Registry House Price Index] reports a 0.1%
increase in June 2009, on an annualised basis prices are 14% lower than a
year ago. The 0.1% rise is the first positive monthly change since 2008,
according to the Land Registry, but it says that rather than signifying
solid growth, it is more a reflection of "flattening prices."
It also states that the number of sales averaged 30,997 per month from January to April 2009, down from 59,948 over the same period last year.
