From the back of my TalkTalk phone bill received today:-
From the 10th July 2006 the following call charges will apply:
• The minimum call charge will change from 5p to 5.25p -
that's still cheaper than BT whose minimum call charge is
5.5p.
• Local & national peak rate calls will change from 2.7p per
minute to 2.85p per minute - again still cheaper than BT
who charge 3p per minute for these calls.
• Local & national off peak calls will change from 5p to 5.25p
for calls up to 70 minutes long. Again still cheaper than BT
who charge 5.5p for a call up to only 60 minutes long.
• All calls to other TalkTalk landlines are still free, all day,
every day, for up to 70 minutes per call.
Our call charges are always cheaper than BT. For more
information about our prices please visittalktalk.co.uk and go to
'My account'
Remember our Talk 2 and Talk 3 packages offer more inclusive
calls and even better value. Checktalktalk.co.uk for even more
details.

And so it begins ..........
I wonder how many they have trapped now.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Personaly I am only with them using CPS and as I still have £11 credit with them will stay until that is used up then see what is avaialable, but as I have a tendency to use 1899, and in the back of my mind to save the credit for 084/087 number that I cannot obtain geo numbers for, it might be a while.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
ive just switched my line rental from bt to talk talk as i was allready with them for my calls but stupidly forgot to ask how much the line rental was!!
does anyone know...;)0 -
£11 per month.
Don't tell me, you subscribe to the "it's sooooo much easier when you only get one bill" school of thought.

Oh dear.
Same type of person probably that buys their meat, fruit and veg from a supermarket and pay 100 - 500% than they would from a market. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

If you have caller display £12.50p a month with TT, only £11 a month with BT.
By moving your line rental to them you are no longer able to use BT ovveride 1280 service to get cheaper Ngn calls. You have also agreed to keep your line rental with them for a minimum of 3 months.PF.0 -
I point and laugh at all those gullible people who've signed up to TalkTalk's "Free" broadband and can't escape it for 18 months without large penalty :rotfl:spacey0

Quote from the back of bill.
"Our call charges are always cheaper than BT"
Absolutel Rubbish. Peak 0845 calls with TT 4.5p a minute.Same call with BT 3p a minute.PF.0 -
For those that have made the mistake and signed up for a very long 18 months, have now got to pay more for their calls.
I also suspect that other things will increase as well simply to pay for the so-called "free" broadband.
Call me a cynic, but in rip-off Britain its nearly impossible to get something for free without a lot of clauses and, in this case, price increases in other areas as well.
Even if TT customers can currently still use Call1899, BT, etc then I believe this will be blocked for all customers once TT have enough customers stuck on their 18 month contract because there will be nothing that they can do about.0 -

But surely for most average users ( those not calling overseas outside EU /US ...& clever eniough to have a free deal on xnet mobile ) especially as most will be on tt3+ inc BB , they won't have that much use for 1899 servicesAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0
