Just got back from my local T's and it wasnt a happy experience. Went to a young girl on the till to pay, totted up my shopping then I handed her my MOCs, she then said 'Oh Im not sure which I can use' so she then sent for a 'trout' who came and asked if I had bought any of the products on the MOCs the SA said no I dont think so, so the 'trout' said to me that I could only use 1 MOC, I showed her the policy I copied and she said this isnt Tescos policy, I said it was, anyway 3 others got involved (the Duty Manager wasnt there today) and they all said the same. One of them had a go at the young girl serving me accusing her of not doing her training properly......she was not happy!!! And that same 'manager' said to me its always been their policy to only allow 1 coupon for a shop, to which I said 'Thats not true as Ive used them for past 3wks and had no problems', she virtually called me a liar - !!!!!!!!!:D
With my usual store, going thro' the checkouts has always been a sh*t or bust manoeuvre - it can be a 0, 1, 3, as many as you've got items or all your coupons day:rolleyes:. But I got the one coupon line in two different Ts last week, such that I decided to take CouponMad's advice (I often wish I could take her in with me) and write to my local T manager for his definitive policy. Still waiting for a response. In the meantime I tend to go by some advice written by a few on here: do fairly small shops, proffer a few coupons each time, and if the going looks good add a few more. One decent coupon held in the back of your wallet is a good standby for those one coupon only days. Good luck all!

Is it worth ringing my local T's tomorrow to get the policy clarified or should I put it down to experience and either try again or not bother trying to use MOCs??????
Ringing your local store is pointless IMHO. You'd just get put through to the CS desk and whoever is on there won't have a clue about coupons...even if they do say the right thing it won't help you next time at the till.
Also don't ring or email Dundee Customer Service Centre. If you phone they are also fairly useless at knowing the policy (they were never told it, they are not Head Office and they get missed out of store communications from HO). If you email them you might just get a reply but it will be the vague 'you can use one' policy which is open to interpretation and is worded much worse than the version we have on the first page.
I think I would just try again. Go on a different day of the week and if a Supervisor gets called just say the same again as you said this time. Maybe the 'right' Duty Manager will be on duty - in which case get his/her name and tell them about the problems you had.
If you find you keep going round in circles at your local - sometimes OK and sometimes looked at like you are a piece of dirt on their shoe - then that's the time to take the last resort I recommend, which is writing to the Store Manager (snail mail, by name, in an envelope marked 'private & confidential, addressee only').
You should write concisely and politely, not asking for 'clarification of the policy' (you already have it clear, but they don't!) but instead concentrate on telling the SM of the highly embarrassing issues you are suffering at the checkout. Inform him/her that you know the national policy and that you were only trying to use one of each coupon in accordance with that policy (enclose a copy from here, just the policy wording no posts or anything).
Finally ask if he/she could kindly reply, confirming if their store does indeed follow the national coupon policy as it seems many staff are unfortunately unaware of it, or misinterpreting it as only one coupon altogether. State confidently that you know that this is not correct and you know you do not have to buy the product on non-Tesco issued coupons, as you have phoned 'Tesco HO' about it before and they have confirmed the wording you have is current...(say that even if you haven't phoned).
If you do take this step don't worry, you are of course allowed to write to the SM - and you are perfectly entitled to know the policy as it's been in the public domain for years. When I wrote to my local SM, it was a last resort for me as some staff in my local were soooo rude I was ready to shop elsewhere anyway unless he could sort it out. He sorted it out and the policy was then followed!:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sometimes you need patience when couponingDefinetly works, but took approx a couple of weeks to get the newsletter, but definetly get the coupons. The newsletter ask you to sign up 2 "friends" or e mail addy's anyway and then sends you a link to print off coupons.:j
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
