Best value unlimited usage internet?

Hi all
Until today I have been on Sky Broadband Max with unlimited downloads for £10 a month, which was fab.
I'm moving house next week, and have been told that the new exchange doesn't support the Max package, so I have to switch to a package with a 40gb limit and a charge of £17.99 per month.
A bit annoyed that I was only told tihs today after talking to them twice about the move, but there you go!

Anyway, to my question. Are there any ISPs offering an unlimited package for a reasonable monthly cost? I am not too bothered about the £17.99, but the 40gb usage is not enough, as we have 3 pcs and regularly use more than that with streaming HD, along with browsing etc.

Anyone any suggestions?

Thanks
Nick

There are no unlimited providers for under around £80 pm. Sky isn't even unlimited, it just throttles you down to a certain speed if you go over a set limit (in the ASA's eyes this in "unlimited", as it's a FUP, but it'd say it's a limit!).

Be / O2 are probably your best bet - i'd go to here and type in your phone number / postcode, then click "LLU xDSL" and see what ticks you get - most companies will only give you their best package if your in an LLU area (as you've just found out with Sky).

Thanks Jakg for the quick response.
    Man this sucks big time!
I get a sea of red crosses - the only green tick I get is when I click on BT ADSL, and then get a max d/l speed of 2Mbps. That isn't even enough to watch HD, never mind the download limits.
Not that it's a deal breaker for the house we're moving to, but I can't believe going 5 minutes up the road has made such a difference.
I was getting 8Mbps at my previous address.
And the new place is on a main road too!
Ah well that's life - more important things in the world than fast internet, although I feel like I'm going back into the dark ages lol

To see the max speed your likely to get click "BT ADSL" bit and look for the following:

According to BT Wholesale, your phone line should be able to support a xMbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.

It's not 100% accurate (it says I will get 6 mbit, whereas my line syncs at 6.5 mbit), but it does the job fairly accurately.

Also worth checking what your 21CN migration date is - if you don't have one set yet, then chances are you've got an "unimportant" exchange which explains the lack of LLU.

    Thanks again.
It says due Q1 2009, so I guess they're running a bit late!
    Exchange is Chorleywood in Hertfordshire.

If you check Sky's Broadband Ts & C's you'll see that they no longer "throttle down" on the Max package, only on the Connect package.
They claim now to be truly unlimited with no impact on connection speed.

I would actually argue this anyway as we seem to go through periods approaching the billing date where the speed reduces.
That said, according to our bill we're still on Connect, but according to Sky themselves we're on Max......

BeUnlimited all the way - tell them you will not pay more than £12 per month as you have had that offer from O2 - there are other introductory offers available on sign up

    Service is excellent!
