If the master socket is in place and the line is still fully in place between the residence and the exchange you can normally get free connection anyway with a 12 month contract, and the option of free evening and weekend calls.

This offer i think your find is/was intended for Virgin Media Customers moving to BT,but if they dont give it to you stick to your guns,or call again and try another customer service person.

Downside,s are 18 month contract, cant change your calling plan, and you must make at least 10 calls a month.and you dont get free evening and weekend calls.

"This Special Offer is available between 1st April 2009 and 30th June 2009 (inclusive) to eligible residential customers."

"Customers must remain on their chosen Calling Plan for 18 months from the date of purchase, and must make at least 30 chargeable or inclusive calls during every three month period, or 10 chargeable calls or inclusive calls per month if you are billed monthly."

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Slightly confused by your link post but my last post was to celebrate my first posting of the offer :D, will post this onto the problems link...

Seems everyone is having problems with this, you have to speak to the options team as the sales team are unaware of this, the problem solved can be by quoting the heading of offer... (Click here to view offer.)

You would get free evening and weekend calls if you take the free
evenings and weekends ( or anytime ) plan...the clue is in the plan name
  • Be warey of the 24 month (not 18 month) trap if you wish to change after 18 months!!!

If you sign up for the free evenings and weekends ( or anytime ) plan they are fixed 12 month (renewable) contracts HOWEVER in the offer it states...

"Customers must remain on their chosen Calling Plan for 18 months..."

Therefore if you choose the 12 month fixed contract you will need to carry it for 24 months for the £122.50 reduction... unless you go for the Unlimited Weekend plan!

    question time!

like most people i already have a bt line, but would like another fitted.

if i ring bt with regards to this offer, will i get another line fitted free?

furthermore, will i have to pay line rental on this free fitted 2nd line?

Yes you could get a second line fitted free, and yes you would have
to pay line rental (as part of whatever calling plan you chose) for at least
    18 months,
