Ever thought of a freebie like AVG, uninstalling Norton will speed your PC up aswell.

First of all make sure the product in PCW is exactly the same as the one you have. If it is then go for it. For £3.00 extra you are getting the latest version with a years updates too. And you don't have to wait to install it but I would just check on the Symantec website and see how much they charge for you to upgrade.
Interested in this thread because mine only has 23 days left too.

Mine was due to run out in June, could'nt be bothered to PAY for Norton so went for AVG and Kerio, both free. So far work very well, AVG updates very regularly and Kerio can be configured to suit you.

I used to use Norton but after using AVG I would not go back, Norton slowed down my computer and didn't really get rid of any viruses, when I ran AVG for the first time it found about 30 viruses/trojans on a computer that was supposed to be protected by Norton

I bought a new laptop which came with 3 mths sub to Norton.

I was tempted when the 3 mths were up to renew, but decided to go with free AVG instead. On first installation of AVG and the first sweep of my drive, it found a trojan that Norton had missed.

Hence, my vote is to get AVG, it's free and updates in the background without any intervention from the user....perfik!

If you do however want to go with freebies do this.

    Download the Antivirus first http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

Then Download the Firewall as well I prefer Sygate http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=sygate 8.8MB

Then go offline and Uninstall Norton Via Control Panel, Add Remove Progrmas.

Then Install The Firewall and Antivirus then reconnect to net and restart PC again.

    This is great!
I'd never heard of free anti-virus before. Getting more greedy now. Is AVG the best one or are there anymore out there people would recommend? If not I'll go with AVG. Thanks.
