Not sure which board this should be on,but just wanted to say both Tescos and sainsburys have hot cross bun offers on at the mo,2 packs for £1.(12 buns)they look pretty much the same, but the tesco ones are like cheap rubbish bread cakes with a few raisons dotted in-so bad that when toasted they crumble under the pressure of buttering, and were so cr*p couldn't eat for pleasure, where as the sainsburys one were moist and squidgy and totaly moorish and I could have happily eaten the lot!!

Haven't tried the Tesco or SAfeway ones but the ASDA ones are stodgy too.
I may be biased, as I work for them, but the nicest ones (not cheapest) I find are from Greggs. I even buy them at full price, a sacrilege on this forum I know!

Hint - if your hot cross bun appears dry or stale, pop it in the microwave on full wack for about 5 seconds, it'll come out beautiful.
Btw, Tesco Hot Cross Buns are 2x6 for just 89p"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
In my opinion Sainsbury pastries in general are better than that of any other supermarkets. They regularly do bogof deals for their cream and rasperberry turnovers and I can't think of any other similar product offering such value and quality.0

The same applies to their teacakes...
I tried the tesco ones yesterday and they were tasteless rubbish!
Sainsburys ones are yum, and with so much attention on the hot cross buns at the moment you can normally find the teacakes reduced to 20p-30p a packBetter to die on your feet than to live on your knees!0 -
In terms of money saving the Sainsbury';s ones are definitely cheaper since I still have loads in the freezer from when they reduce them to 10p at the end of the day but the till still gives the "2 packs for £1" reduction so they have paid me to take their food away...0
