Winter Bills Yet?

3bed detached.
Gas: £260 for the quarter vs. £210 last year.
Elec: £130 vs. £109 last year.
I work from home so the electric is higher because of the computers being on 24/7. We've just had loft and cavity wall fitted in the past couple of weeks so hopefully will see reductions in the gas bills. I was expecting an increase.0 -

For the same quarter last year and using the same amount of units (kwh) my gas bill has increased 42% and my electricity by 45% for this quarter
15th Oct -- 15th Jan
Out of this 13 week period I was away for two weeks.
Gas price with Ebico 3.77p KWH all units including vat
Electricity normal units 17-11p off peak 6-37p including vat
I don`t think I can save any on a gas switch but probably could on electricity.
I`ve delayed investigating a change so far,as I was expecting prices to come down shortly.
One thing for certain they won`t come down 40 plus %0 -
We dont have gas so all of our house is electric.
we were with Npower and paying 120 per month. we switched a couple of months ago to eon. and it came down to 95. per month. which is obviously better but we would love to be able to reduce it further if anyone has any tips.
we have always turned switches off at the wall, the only thing left on at night in our house is the fridge and freezer.
we got our winter bill from them last week, £225!! for the period 12th December to end of Jan!
I know in summer everything is pretty much turned off so will go down but what can we do.:T £2.00 coin saver number 059

They don't need to. They only need to come down about 30% to get back to what they were before. Percentages are relative.0 -

That`s absolutely great news.
Trouble is,it ain`t gonna happen.
To avoid getting referred to the competition commission these greedy energy companies will make a small cut (maybe 10% with a lot of trumpet blowing) about April time.
Remember they kept telling us it`s all linked to the price of oil
well (no pun) has come down 60% since it`s peak at $1470 -
I wonder what happened to that particular theory? :rotfl: Martin seems to think that cuts will be announced 'within 10 days'. I won't hold my breath for a %tage rate that's going to be what it should be, though..Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
