Competitions Discussion Thread Part 9

  • There is no list for monthly comps - most of the posts on the regular board are monthly. Some need entering every month, but there are a lot which are ongoing - esp newsletter sign up types - lots of site hold a prize draw monthly either for people who have signed up that month, or drawn from everyone currently taking the newsletter. There are also bi-monthly and quarterly comps. In short, anything which isn't a one off comp with a specific closing date goes in the regular board. Hth :)

Thanks i think that clarifies it- a list for dailys, a list of weeklys and the other posts on the thread are the rest ie monthly, bi montly quaterly etc etc:T

    Thanks again

How do you enter your comps?

As soon as it is listed? Or nearer the closing date?

    Thank you.

I used to enter competitions as they were listed and still try to do so but every so often I go through quite a few pages and get some comps that I missed.

I dont do it as a chore, but as a hobby, if I miss some then I miss some, so be it, its not the end of the world:D

    Hi compers,
I'd love to enter all the family holidays but most of them are for family of 4, seeing as I have 3 kids does anyone know if you would be allowed to pay for an extra child should you be lucky enough to win? I couldn't possibly leave one behind! :D
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

I won a family holiday, and as my ds is an only child we decided to take my nieces as well, the organisers had said the holiday was for 4 , thankfully they werent concerned about ages, so i asked to add on the extra child as my son as he is under 12 where my nieces both arent, they had no probs and all we had to pay was £188, that was for the flight, which was really good as we had put aside £500 to add an extra child. The hotel was fine and had no extra cost as it was two adjoing family rooms and the breakfasts were incuded in the room rate.

I cant see y u should worry,im sure most will be okay if u r willing to pay for the extra child, they would understand that we all dont have 2.2 kids lol xxx
Even if the organiser was funny, to book an extra flight and speak to a hotel about adding an extra child u could easily do urself xxxx

HI korky - I know some people use other sources for finding magazine/postal comps, but I find MSE the best place for comps as they are well organised and you find out more about the prize/freebie and can track what you have and haven't entered using the thanks button. I'd like to see as many as possible posted in the thread on MSE - I dont know if you agree?

For the benefit of those on the comps discussion thread wondering where this discussion has come from, I asked a question which started a bit of a debate over in the postal thread and korky rightly suggested it was best carried on over here, rather than clog up the thread with non-competition posts.

Its tricky - Postalcomps is good - but I can get in a muddle checking between our thread and the Postalcomps site to avoid duplicating comp entries - but then if I was better organised I might not have that problem :rotfl:
