Catching up on the thread after my night out/hair appointment/catch up with little brother. Nearly done, but posting now to avoid losing the post!
All the windows are open to air the house, I've had lunch and am making my shopping/to do list for the weekend as a I go! (See, multi-tasking while catching up on chat)
ooh help - DS has a school shirt that is foul -looks like dried in ground in mud...washed in bio twice without success - am now desperate to get it clean - it looks awful. Any tips? If not I shall wet it and vanish bar it ...but I am thinking bleach which I have never used on clothes - well, not deliberately LOL
I use ecover laundry bleach, which I find is quite effective. Have you tried soaking it for a long period, changing the water regularly?Flylady_Flower wrote: »Honey, Pigpen has said it, the chat on here has to slow down, but you are the only one stopping completly you donut (that's said with love BTW)! As Soappie said, just let us know when you've washed up your cup after your coffee - anything flying wise... and as Mozzy said " firstly, don't post the looong looong list. just the day we are on! or if you are struggling anyways just pick 3 jobs to do to get going! you know we'll cheer you on :jsecondly, chat is not 'forbidden' just restricted

There is NOTHING worse than being on your own and feeling down and we are all here for you, the first post was not aimed at you personally so don't be the only person not posting at all... you are much loved on here and we want to be here for you... huge hugs that you get your va va va voom back soon honey... :A
Well said :T :T Get back here Toots and start motivating us again... it'll probably help you get yourself motivated. You know we need you, and not having you here has made us appreciate you even more!
Pigpen - positive vibes for your sister & the baby. Hope all goes well
Triker - hope your tooth responds to treatment quickly... how are you coping with the family over the weekend without that nice alcohol induced haze
MoF77 - sorry to hear about your DD. I hope you're both managing with the new regimemumoffour77 wrote: »Melted cheese!!!! what would you use to dip in that???? Bread sticks?:o
Boiled potatoes, french bread, veggies, bits of meat... and I have an unused and unwanted fondue set in my garage, so if you want it, PM me your details and you can have it as an early birthday present!
Rach - congrats on the weight loss, and thanks for the update on Pigpen0 -
hello everyone,
i've not posted much this week but work has been chaos for me & dh so just been getting home, doing enough to get by & then sleeping :rotfl:
today i have ...
totally cleaned kitchen, conservatory & dining room. hoovered lounge, hall & utility, helped dd1 clear up her floor (was still covered in books from last weekend!), wmx3, tdx2, dwx2, grounded dd1 for the 2nd week & argued with dh!
I asked him to put me a couple of shelves in our old lardar cupboard so i could use it, no prob but what did he use to make to shelves ... the doors    i didn't know whether to laugh or cry, he told me i should have been more specific
He's now gone to buy wood to make new doors :rotfl:
oh well, off to fold my clothes mountain, hugs to all,
Lou x0 -
No flying in the house but we have spent a couple of hours tidying outside and weeding some more of the veg plot. Nice to get some time outside - windy but sunny. Need to get the hoover out but not until the mud that a small boy has walked through the house dries up.
gryfon, I never use my iron, just a steam press. I only really iron DHs work shirts and used to make a real mess of them with the iron. Took a couple of tries to get it right but now it does a better job and is far faster. Paid about £100 for it.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
It's very quiet here
I'm now off shopping... feeling guilty that I can't be bothered to go into town, and will probably regret it  I have been to the farm shop this morning though.
Anyway, I need some help from you all... my brother has asked me to make his wedding cake for him, but its not simple - they want three tiers of chocolate tiffin cake, ideally in dark/milk/white! I've told them we'll have to test recipes (starting next week), and I'm reasonably confident that I can get the cakes themselves to work, but I'm not so sure on how to do the tiers, so any ideas would be appreciated. And if anyone knows how I work out how big each tier should be so that there is enough for 80 people for pudding, plus some to take home afterwards, that would be great!
Think I might have to buy some more cake tins0 -

Greenbee - this one is for 104 portions so could you replicate the sizes or scale up slightly?:

Hi all
Well sort of successful ebay listing - managed to do 3 of the 5 but so bored i had to stop - hungry too realised have had nothing to eat since yesterday! Crumpets now in the toaster.
I suppose that doing 3 is more than i have achieved for weeks with ebay.
Why do teenagers insist that everything is so loud - DS is 'playing' on the Xbox - I hate the sound of gunfire mixed with the odd expletive as he appears to be talking to other people - how I do not know!!
I will be glad that he is out tomorrow!
Wm finished but it is now cloudy outside with no wind so think I will use the airer to dry the clothes.
Must get on with list now.
Back later
MeNovember NSD 1/10Weight loss - 7lbs from the 41 I need to loose = 34 to go0 -
Slow going on the bathroom - some days I just clean slower than others. I'm just having a cuppa and washing up and then up to finish it. I plan to clean as much as possible all weekend and then do all out of house jobs and shopping on Monday.
Ironing - I have a simple rowenta steam job - it is fine. I live in a hard water area so don't get anything expensive but they last about 5 years. I choose by the weight which feels right and a comfortable handle within a preset budget.
Boddy and Toots hugs and serenity for you both
Mudbath - impressed by the sowing. After spending 2 hours out at football I didn't want to be out gardening despite the sun - hoping for more good weather this week.
Right back to the bathroom - cabinet all sorted, cleaned out so just the rest of the room to do now and then out with the clean towels. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Grrr, just lost a postmethekidsandthecat wrote: »Why do teenagers insist that everything is so loud - DS is 'playing' on the Xbox - I hate the sound of gunfire mixed with the odd expletive as he appears to be talking to other people - how I do not know!!
greenbee - i must try the farm shop. Am struglging with shopping at the moment. The woman who made my wedding cake had a book which had portion sizes in, you can probably find online. She also hired tins.
didn't do starbucks, well we went but it was so full of people including several screaming children that we changed our minds. I did the supermarket whilst DH came home to study. Supermarket didn't have all of what I need - I need to work out a way forward with my food shopping, nothign is working at the moment. This is the hardest thing with not working flexibly anymore - I was spoiled cos I used to just go whenever, now it really has to be weekends.
Have done more flying including hanging the wet laundry up, will update my list laterMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

DS is a bit confused about why he's not in big trouble for ruining a pillowcase and pillow - he doesn't get that he could quite easily be dead and i'm too relieved to kill him myself:o
I've already tried remover on the nail varnish and it just seemed to dilute and spread it - there's nothing to pick off it's 'in' the fabric iyswim
but ... big drum roll please... i've cleaned the oven:j :j :j
it's taken hours but AnW is sending me an oven mat so it needed doing.
and i want to say a big thank you for this thread my dd is having 3 friends for a sleepover tonight and normally i would be in a foul mood running round like a headless chicken tidying and cleaning and today i've just had to S&S - its great:T
