is that not the old rate, the new rate is 16.88p have a look here http://www.nieenergy.co.uk/latestprices.php
  • Have just been on with N.I.E as a girl in work was telling me her monthly DD is going up to £103!
She reckons with the increase of 33% mine will be about £50 which is still scary!

Hi , mine going up to £123 a month - despite using economy 7 tariff , energy efficient bulbs etc (something to do with 4 kids I think)- hopefully the price will be reviewed in the light of the reduction in oil prices - although I'm not holding my breath.

I'm on NIE's Eco Energy Tariff, absoultely the same price as their normal tariff but Eco Energy is NIE Energy's alternative source of green electricity and for every unit of electricity you use in your home NIE buy's an equivalent amount of power from a local 'renewable' supplier such as a wind farm.

It's absolutely free to sign up http://www.nie-yourenergy.co.uk/eco.php and you get your bill on eco-energy branded paper WOW!

No offence, but most of us just want cheaper bills!

    Cheers, Des.
  • I can't believe the price of electric now... I dread to think what my next bill will be. I have wrote to my local MP about it as I feel I have to make my voice heard somehow, though how much good it will do I'm not sure - doesn't hurt to try eh?

don't we all, but as NIE is our only supplier we ain't got much choice

btw signing up to the eco-tariff does get you a free Home Energy check from the Energy Saving Trust providing you with energy efficiency advice for your home so you might just find some ways to save energy and save money and do a little for the enviroment at the same time - everyones a winner!

Easy, shower at your local community centre, hand wash your clothes, hang dry your clothes, reduce computer use to just one machine, charge your laptops at work, hand wash your dishes, change your fridge freezer, buy a small 14inch TV!
