Bradford & Bingley 1 year eBond (Issue 39) application form

I want to open the 1 year fixed rate e bond before it closes.- We know how quickly B&B remove accounts.

Now, I did open an Internet Saver 3 a couple of weeks ago but I haven't yet transferred a large amount of money.
If I requested the transfer this morning to the Internet Saver from my nominated account, it would take 3 days to appear. Then it would take another 5 to 6 days for B&B to make it available, I can't see their justification for this 'available' clearance bit.
The bond would probably have disappeared by this time.

I rang them this morning and was advised to print an application form, printed from their website, together with a cheque.
I cannot for the life of me, find the application form on their site...anyone point me in the right direction?
Or was I given the wrong information and the form does not exist.

If you already have an account with them there is no forms to fill in. You open the account from within your account and transfer the money that way. The new bond shows in two days as an account.

Yes, I know I can open one from my Internet Saver 3 but....

If it's a large amount send by CHAPS, it's same day so there would be no delay.

But then B&B take another 6/7 days to say it's available.
  • interesting reading this thread, found myself in a similar position this morning.
decided to open one of their bonds but didn't have the full amount in the online account.

i knew there would be delays so i applied online, outside of the online account, effectively as a new customer.
All the details are filled in as normal, they also ask for any online account no. you have etc.
That eventually provides a reference no. for the application and although they asked for your online account number, they then request a cheque be sent.
so i printed that last page with the ref. no and sent it off with my cheque.

But I belive they backdate the interest so you'd not loose out; check with 'em tho.

Yes, I realise that but my point is that B&B could remove the offer before the funds read 'available'.
  • am i right in saying that the postal application bond is not the same product as the eBond?

only the eBond gives online access?
  • just an update..

i have already received written confirmation of my online eBond application, and the account is already showing online below the Internet Saver account. No balance yet, of course, as cheque would only arrive today at earliest.
    Very impressed so far!
