Stocks/Shares ISA - what should I do?

  • Dunstonh was clearly saying " after prices have fallen ", not " the bear market is over ". And he's quite right - for the long term investor this is not the time to sell, it's the time to buy.

I suggest you read what he said again:

"coming out now after a bear market is a strange decision."

He made that post a couple of weeks ago when the FTSE 100 was at 5311 and before it fell a further 25%.

It was most certainly not after a bear market which was a totally daft assumption in such turbulent times. Sensible investors should not rely purely on the biassed advice of financial advisors who earn commission by keeping their clients invested.

I never said the bear market was over. We had got to the point it was being classed as a bear market and pulling out after that is not usually a good idea.

sensible investors know that investment doesnt have to mean stockmarket and shouldnt be just stockmarket. There are other asset classes and they pay the same remuneration.

To assume investing means stockmarket just shows your naivety and highlights your comments are not about being helpful to others but just an attempt to promote your bias against advisers . Investing is about opinions and if you have one then present it. Sniping as you are is just pathetic and unhelpful.

Preferably they should be unbiassed opinions rather than intended to persuade clients to invest regardless of the financial climate..
