Dosen't make sense with all this Core/Premium fiasco

They would have sold just as many consoles if all had been the premium packages, people were (and still are in some cases) willing to pay as much as needed to get any form of XBox 360. Microsoft should have known this and production in theory would have been much quicker due to the reduction in components needed to build (You wouldn't need 2 types of packaging, 2 types of DVD tray and so on).

They want to promote the XBox Live a lot more with this console (Just look at the dashboard) but you CANNOT take advantage of much of it without the components of a premium (Hard drive, headset and so on).

    Back to the search :)

My local Woolworths had signs all over the store saying they had 2 cores but only one was left. Went back in 30 minutes later and it will still available...I got my core from them on Tuesday so they must be getting them in on a regular basis as mentioned above somewhere (Got sucked into the hype, had to sell it a day later as I got a premium in GAME!)

Firstly if any of the doubters dont think it was possible to purchase 50, you had to purchase 1 at a time which admitedly was time consuming....and to the people who wish bad things to somebody who had the forsight to use information posted on this forum (which everybody could have used) to make a few quid when you were trawling the web trying to find an xbox....grow up...thats how business works.....supply and demand...you buy and sell at a profit ...the more you buy and sell the more money you earn....if there are muppets on ebay who want to buy one for an over the odd's price its their choice...nobody is forcing you to do it

Anyway I had a very happy christmas and I wasnt the only one......

Do you think that ticket touting is a right and correct business? Because what you are describing is the exact same principle. Xboxes, like many other items, have a recommended retail price. They are not commodities and their prices do not behave such.

All you are doing is exploiting people for personal gain and that maybe how the government and big business works, but from the sound of your other posts, you sit on your !!!!!! and laugh and desperate people. Well done, great business there.
  • It seems clear that a large part of the problem is due to re-sellers trying to cash in on the hype created over the 360 release.

All major retailers, throughout the day, update their web sites with new stock, however within *minuntes* stock is sold. Now a significant percentage of people have day time jobs, who cannot monitor these sites 24\7, therefore it is probable that a small minority of individuals sit at their computers, day-upon-day looking for fresh stock. The moment stock appears, they buy as many units as they can, and then proceed to flog them on Ebay.

So, whilst there is a perceived notion of mega shortages, people will turn to ebay, mainly because a small few individuals are buying most of the limited stock, making it impossible for an average Joe to buy one from the net.

I'm hoping that at some point, people will realise that the 360 is a mass produced, low resale value toy, like most consumer electronics, therefore is it really worth paying £50 - £100 more than RRP? I am sure that if people used cash, rather than credit, the Ebay situation would be a completely different story :rotfl:
