Took the kids to see Pineapple Express last night. Not to my taste, but they seemed to enjoy it. Screening was about 80% full I think. Started on time, in one of the medium sized screens and no queuing out in the foyer, so full marks to Vue Leicester
Once the surprise/shock element of this type of humour has worn off, there isn't much left. One or two scenes made me laugh - as already mentioned, foot thru the windscreen. Seemed like a cross between a cartoon Tom and Jerry and someones first attempt at making a film, with their mates as 'actors'. How many times can you hit, shoot, stab, set fire to and blow people up.....but their still alive in the next scene ?!!
Just to my youngests taste though. Crude, one word in 3 an F word, slap-stick etc
I wouldn't have bothered going personally, but they enjoyed it, so I will give it a 6 out of 10
Desperate for Tickets for Tropic Thunder in Leicester - again, not exactly for "me", but for youngest. I havn't seen any codes for it, and I don't think there will be any at this late stage. But here's hoping, otherwise I will have to get the plastic out :eek:0 -
Just back from The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
Haunting, harrowing and sad. Very very moving in parts.
Woman in front crying her eyes out for the last 20 odd minutes.
Excellent performances from the two young boys.
Deserves a Bafta, Oscar or similar.
Hope they show this in Germany.
9.9 out of 10

Just came back from Tropic Thunder at Greenwich. Got there at 6.30, queue was massive. Almost shoulder barged 2 queue jumpers over a balcony, film didn't start till 6.45 - which is becoming a habit at Greenwich (can't complain as it meant I caught the start).
Don't wanna spoil for anyone, but don't miss the beginning, you'll wonder if you walked into the wrong movie. Hilarious stuff... but that's where the good stuff ends.
I'm not gonna review it cos there are more screenings to come, but I won't give it more than 4/10. My friend who took me fell asleep at times.0 -
One sentence sums it up.......
Stunningly moving..... a must see.

Pineapple Express @ Cineworld Sheffield.
Screening was full with a surprising array of people. Half young, half old. Not to sound ignorant or anything, but I didn't expect 60/70yrs old grandmothers/grandfathers to be into stoner-humour! Anyway, being a stoner and all, the film hit me on smokingly-hot-well-this-happened-to-me-last-week level and I thought it was pretty damn funny!
Oh, and I haven't been to a public screening in months, but it's the first time I've seen one full to the brim!0 -

Pineapple Express is teetering on the edge of 7 out of 10 on average...
Every vote is switching it (and from my biased view I want it above!)
Another 7+ please!Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
