I asked a question and various people have jumped up to tell me to respect the board guides. I'm not disrespecting them, I'm asking why we aren't allowed to discuss this, i've not been involved in any other discussions and nobody is giving any reasons why we have been told not to mention the subject! I just keep being told not to!

I never said there was a conspiracy, just that some people who have been involved are making a big assumption that everyone else knows what is going on and is willfully disobeying orders (orders! lol).

Why can't we use the system that has been used in the past for communicating - i.e. explaining what is going on via a sticky, so that everyone can see there is information we need to know. The only thing we have is information on how to sort the posts now, not all the background and ongoing stuff around it - that would have been useful and saved all this bother.

I hope that is clear now and once again, I think a friendlier tone would be helpful as well - I feel some people went straight into slapping wrists mode without considering the lack of information I and others are functioning under.

To be honest I think your posts come across as having an attitude and maybe it's that which is annoying people, rather than the point you're trying to make. Communicating via a written medium is difficult as it lacks expression and tone. Your words by themselves are actually quite harsh.

I hope this clears it up for you a little:

Divadee has requested that the comps ending are not discussed any further for now as the board guides are having a discussion to determine their future on the boards. This does not necessarily mean they will stop. Perhaps they will come back, but with clearly defined rules and etiquette. Who knows but I'm sure that the board guides are capable of making the right decision for the whole community on the compers forum.

Most of the discussions regarding the comps ending took place a couple weeks ago when a couple of the board guides were away on holiday. The fact that you have missed the discussions is unfortunate, but it wasn't stickied because it was chit chat/debate amongst the general members of this board (rather than coming from BG's). The debate reached the point where it was felt that the BG's should discuss the future of the comps ending list. People coming in 2 weeks later and chipping in their 2p's worth is probably not going to make any difference to the overall outcome. All the points have been discussed over and over.

Before jumping in and posting in the future perhaps it would be a better (safer ) approach to read back just a couple pages on the discussion thread to check that you're not posting about something that's already been covered (as most of this is mentioned a bit earlier in this thread).

Unfortunately no , although you can use google that way apparently (mentioned a bit further back in this thread).

The way to find comps by ending date on here is:

Scroll to the bottom of the main competition forum. There are some drop down boxes (under the heading display options).

Choose:

sorted by - "thread title"
sort order - descending or ascending (what ever is your personal preference)

The threads on the forum are then organised by the ending date stated in the thread title. Navigate your way through the pages until you find the ending date you want. Now that divadee has gone to great lengths to ensure they are all titled correctly, the threads are actually very well organised into groups.

Sorry to drag it up again, but do you think there will be less people entering the comps without the list or do you think everyone who uses them will just search th threads (which is just as simple imo)

Just wanted to say that this discussion has been going on for weeks now so the BGs gave us plenty of time to put out opinions and questions forward. If you look in game over and find the old discussion thread nothing more should need to be said because over the past few weeks everything that could possibly be said has been so people are just repeating things now. I'm sure any questions anyone has can be answered by looking at the previous discussions.It just needs to be left alone now

I have tonight spent about 5 hours going through all the threads to change all the dates to the correct format.

The correct format from now on is E: 01/01 win.... on the main board and E: WEEKLY win etc.. on the regular comps board

The reason why we have done this as if you want to look for competitions in date order you can do this by using the above format and then going to display options at the bottom of the page and selecting sorted by 'Thread Title' and then selecting sort order 'Ascending'

This will help everyone who are catching up with there competitions and want to find a certain date.

If everyone sticks to this, it will make finding competitions by date 100% better for everyone.
