The Maximiser is great!! We are looking to go to america in 3 weeks and I can see there is a difference of nearly $100 on £1000 between the top and bottom companies.
However, we don't want to be taking £1000 in cash. Is their a Travellers Cheque option?0 -
Hi mdj1,
The best way to take more money is on the right credit card - or even a prepaid card.
Take a look at this article - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-travel-money - where it takes you through the cheapest way for you - unfortunately travellers cheques are very expensive these days and you are better off with a different route.

Hi
I have used Martin's new Travel Money Maximiser today and it is showing a good rate for the dollar at Travel Money Services. Has anyone used them before as I have never heard of them?
Thanks0 -
Hi there,
Does the Money Maximiser tool allow you to compare selling prices or only buying prices? i.e. if a person returns from holiday with extra/unused currency, they may want to sell that currency back in exchange for GBP.
I think a tool to compare selling rates would be very useful. Is this planned?
Thanks0 -
Well, I have to admit that the tool is not very accurate at all, I got different prices from the TOP4 on the list when I was searching for dollars, so I pays to go to the actual sites and get an upto date rate.
As an example, I was shown 1.94 from the post office, and thought this would be good as I could collect, went to the site and it only offered me 1.910 -
This is great! Thank you for sharing.0
