  • Hi
I was advised to see ifr the modem worked in a diff computer - it worked fine in my lapop, which is on Win 98. My desktops on XP & cant find the modem/doesnt respond to it at all. Might it be uncompatible?

So you didnt read post no9 as the first link gives no
indication that it was compatible, so I would say take it back and get
    one that is....

Or get an internal one just make sure you uninstall the old drivers first..

TURN OFF PC AND DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY
then remove case cover, blow out the receiving slot with a can of compressed
air to remove any dust slot the modem in replace cover, turn on PC then
a new hardware wizard should appear, install modem drivers from disc.
