We have established an online petition calling for a ban on wheel clamping in England following the dubious tactics employed by awheel clamping company in our area.
The company has imposed excessive and unjustified penalties. Examples of their questionable procedures include forcing people to pay excessive charges in cash with the threat that the fee would increase by £50 per hour unless it was paid immediately.
We’ve even heard first accounts from young women who have been frogmarched to cash points to withdraw cash to pay the £125 release fee, plus £50 for the parking penalty.
If you support our campaign please sign this online anti wheel clamping petition and get other people you know to do likewise.

I had a look at the petition, and as it was started by a Councillor then can they not lobby the local Council to copy the action recently taken by another Council who are going to issue ASBOs to private clampers? Thread here:

The Councillor in Windsor went on TV and stated that he hoped that their action would be copied around the rest of England & Wales as clamping should be banned.
:TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No council can issue an ASBO, they have to apply to the court which then may or may not issue the ASBO.0

Oh thanks Coblcris, I didn't know that!
Even so, that's what the Council in question has announced it will seek to do. It will be interesting to see if the Court allows it then, when they try.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Many councils believe that they are the 'law'. This annoys many Magistrates.0
