Hand blender (for soups etc)
Cake tins
Pyrex dishes
High quality knives
A microplane grater
If other people are paying take a look at the Lakeland website.

Definately a blender for smoothies or soups or sauces......
other than that, do you sew? ask for material then you can make whatever you like out of it (curtains, tablecloths, clothes.....) dont forget to specify colour and type though or who knows what you will get!!
A steamer is great for healthy meals
hope that helps, I'll think of more! Need to make my own wedding list at sme stage too...... not for a little while yet though, not getting married for just over 2 years0 -
My sister went through the Argos book, and cut out pictures (and item numbers) of the things she wanted, she then stuck it all in a little book. People were able to rip out the page of the item they were going to get, and she was able to get the things she wanted, rather than someone elses ideas!!!!0

Measuring spoons/cups/jugs
Good quality microwavable cooking kit-cheaper to use micro than hob
If you cant think of things right now than maybe ask for Lakeland vouchers (if they do them that is) as they have really FANTASTIC stuff you can use.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Stuff the breadmaker - we got a kenwood chef which makes fantastic bread but also does a whole host of other things! However this was due to the wonderful and very generous in-laws. It's great because it comes with a blender and you can also get all kinds of other attachments.
We also love our Denby oven/freezerware and one of our best presents were our Le Creuset saucepans - they will last a lifetime and we were fortunate enough to get the stainless steel/aluminium ones as well as the cast iron cocottes.
How about looking at the most/least used gagets threads - that should give you an idea about what people use.
Have fun and good luck for the big day!0 -
Dear old stylers.
I'm getting married this September and Mum has recommended that we put together a list of items that we would like to receive as wedding gifts should anyone ask about buying us a gift. OH and I haven't lived together - I have a one bed flat and he lives in mess. The one bed flat is pretty tiny and so I only have the bare essentials in terms of crockery, glassware, kitchen items and linen.
Being a part-time old style dabbler myself I thought it would be fun to pose the question to you guys: what would you recommend putting on an old-style wedding gift list?
I'll start
1) slow cooker
2) photo album (for wedding photos)
... any more suggestions?Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94

Have a think about your new home. Imagine walking around it and what you would hope to find in each room. There will be all sorts of things from inexpensive to very costly. It is better to not put too many costly things on your list unless your family and friends are very well off.
There is another forum on here called the familiy forum where people normally get help with this kind of question, so it could help to post there as well.0
