Assuming you have a standard BT line, so by using 1899 you could make aprox 266 calls for that amount per month !

look at at MSE "The solution in a Nutshell" paragraph - link below

Very Expensive 0870 and 0845 calls, and dear mobile calls.Highish Intl Rates.

You must have a broadband Ethernet Internet connection (standard USB modem is no good).

A cheaper supplier Euphony £7.25p a month is discussed by MSE in his article.

    Then theirs these fees.

Line Activation Fee £9.99 Fax Line Activation Fee £5.99
Virtual Number Activation Fee £5.99 Softphone Activation Fee £5.99
Line Disconnection Fee £23.99 Fax Line Disconnection Fee £5.99
Virtual Number Disconnection Fee £5.99 Line Reactivation Fee £5.99
    Telephone Number Change Fee £5.99

I think you guy's are missing the point there's NO LINE RENTAL, because you use your broadband Ethernet Internet connection :j :j

You don't need a seperate phone line, you just use your Broadband connection!!:T

I didn't find any hidden charges, but I was trying to find someone who's on this scheme so I could get feed back?

Can you explain how someone not on cable can get BB without a landline?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Sorry guy's I appear to be running before I can walk

What I meant to say was you won't need to have a seperate line for your phone, thus saving the cost of line rental and call package.

Their neighbour’s unsecured wi-fi network? ;) There are nearly eight million households with access to cable.

So if you have already got a landline, and you cant get BB from another source, you would be better off following MSE advice.:D

I have 2MB NTL cable broadband and no phone line. I am using https://www.voip.co.uk for phone calls. If you buy their adapter for £50 this includes 12 months on their UK package - free calls evening/weekends and 2p per call at peak times.

A geographic number (your choice of location) is included. I opted to buy their adapter - it comes pre-configured, just plug it in and start dialing.

Alternatively if you use your own voip adapter it costs £19.99 for the year or £1.99 a month.

I would have to make an awful lot of peak calls to make £7.99 a month worthwhile.
