Please help, no hot water or heating - combi boiler problems.

Hello all I wondered if any of you good people can offer some guidance.
We have a Worcester 240 combi boiler, yesterday my OH drained the radiators as we had a bit of excess pipework (from a removed radiator) taken out.
He then refilled them double checking the water level inside and that they were all ok.
When we tried to get the heating and/or water back on the main burner comes on but then after about 30 secs the main burner goes out. The pump appears to keep pumping water through the system but it's cold water. The pump then starts to get hot.
The pilot light stays on. The thermacouple is also fine so we're stuck.....can anyone help please?
Thank you from a cold Triker.:o

i know you said the pump appears to pump water, but could the pump be air locked? sometimes there are bleed valves locally or a plug on the back of the pump that can be loosened to check for waterPlease note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0

We can't locate any bleed valvesand due to the position of the boiler we can't access the back of the pump. Think we'll have to get a plumber in. Cheers for your help though.

if it were me i'd maybe try to loosen a connection close to the pump, but this depends on how confident you are, and theres the possibility of causing more trouble! good luck with it though. Please note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0

I have a combi and that is a sealed system but I also have two bleed points in places where the pipework had to be higher than the boiler and radiators.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Having had a good look we cannot locate seperate bleed points. OH thinks that there is air in the pump and/or air in the boiler.
We have also tried to locate the reset button for the system but can't find one.
I think we'll just have to find a plumber, rang one (whose v. good) but he's busy all week. Bum.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

We have a worcester bosch and when ours went wrong we called them directly, they are open from 8.00 and you can pay them over the phone with your card.
Engineers was very good, just fixed the boiler. No 'house of horror' type tricks.
They were with us within 2 days as well
oh yeah, you can call them for tech support to.
