Ok just a quickie on the vent board.
From my previous posts I recently booked some rooms and the booking system said that no rooms had been booked after I debit card and credit card.
So why has my bank now saying that £1300+ have been requested by Travelodge and
my credit card say that £252 is pending with them?
Overdrawn charges are now going onto my account and I have had to deposit quick funds in.
Travelodge are saying they are blameless? No bookings or payments are showing on their system.
What would you do?

On the Travelodge mobile website it does say there maybe issues with some browsers.
Has anyone actually booked using Firefox.(Actually meaning confirmation number received back to your email address)0 -
Good luck, hope it gets sorted and you get your bank charges back quickly.
Your recent Quidco cashback should more than cover any downfall.

Excellent so you have booked through the Travelodge Mobile site using Firefox.
Whatever browsers they are saying may give problems at least I can look towards another member having used same as mine.
As for the investigation.A&L have been advised that I will need until Monday.I have funded my account(that's the lucky bit)but I await a decision from the IT dept of Travelodge as to what the issue is.
For all I know I have bookings.I would certainly not want them cancelled just for a refund just yet.
Finally do you need to log in on the mobile website?0 -
Travelodge have been a disaster to book through this last offer.
I tried going through a cashback site and when that kept failing I tried booking directly but still just froze up part way through.
Shan't bother to waste my time in future.
Other offers out there so they can keep their hard beds.:mad:0 -
I tend to use only Firefox these days - I can't get on here at all with IE.
I felt like I was wasting my time with the last TL sale - couldn't get into the site for over an hour - then when I did manage it (by sheer perseverance) I would get to varying points with the transaction before being thrown off. So the mobile seemed easy by comparison - the only blip I had was it wouldn't accept the 4 digits from amex, so I switched to another card. I didn't have to log on, which makes a pleasant change!
I do sympathise - I'm having a similar experience with Apple - double charged me and held back the refund till following month!
This board is full of technical hitches to user detriment (often this multiple-booking problem) - I think it's time large companies got a better grip and had a smooth system in place for when things go wrong.
Hope you manage to get a room and your refund - you deserve it!0 -
The fiasco I have had with Travelodge won't just end there.I await what 'excuses'they come up with from the IT Dept.0

£1300 ....yikes!!!!...how many rooms did you book (or try to book)....perhaps thats the reason nobody else could find any £9 rooms....hope you get it sorted and come back and let us all know what happened.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -

On the back of the Amex card there is a 3 digit code - on mine it's on bit where you sign. First it's your card number and then a 3 digit code. I had the same problem using Amex online and had to ring them eventually - answer is simple!
Hope this helps.0 -
I spoke to her on Friday. She says that she will be speaking to IT about this and I have asked her to fax the bank this afternoon, so that they can release the pending funds back into my current account,as I can't wait for these to drop off in a few more days.
I await her reply and as for the bank cards I put all the necessary info in including the last 3 digits on the back.
I used a A&L debit card and a Tesco Credit card
No bookings were made as no confirmation numbers were issued0
