I am looking for a bank that does solo cards as i had this last year but the halifax changed it to electron for the chip and pin.
I am finding it hard as not many people accept electron especially tesco delivery.
Any help please?

I had the same problem with Halifax and Tesco, ended up shopping with Sainsbury's at Home cos they took electron! I've read on here that Nat West Step account comes with a solo cardMortgage-free wannabe!0

According to the Solo Card website the only banks that issue them are NatWest & HSBC.

NatWest's basic Step account has solo cards but I've had a quick look at HSBC and the only accounts I could see with a Solo were the accounts for under 18's.Dum Spiro Spero0 -

Tesco's don't give a damn!!!
I was with the Halifax until about a year ago and originally had a Solo card until they changed it to Electron back in May/June last year. This meant I couldn't get my shopping at Tesco online anymore (and also made life hell buying almost anything online until people slowly started accepting Electron) but because I'm disabled I can only do my shopping online, so I spent months bitterly complaining to Tesco about it but they just didn't care!
I also requested an account upgrade with Halifax to get a Visa debit card which they also refused, so in the end I told them they could stick their account where the sun don't shine and opened a Lloyds TSB account, whereby I was immediately given a Visa debit card!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Solo and Electron Debit cards should be accepted in everyplace other cards are taken. These cards are just as good if not better as they do not let you gett into debt. So lets stop the snobbery of platinum cards and start a pressure group to make all retailers take them .
Is there any such groups? I HAVE writen and phoned to complain and had many silly excuses. Please help me fight this cause.

Lets Start a Pressure group to make all shops take ,electron and solo. Sainsburys won,t take solo or electron on line. Wh smiths ,woolworths, next and many more shops refuse to take them. This must stop. PLatinum cards should be banned.0

Many shops do not accept any cards (newsagents, Bonkers, charity shops...). Let's start campaign?
Many don't accept Amex. Let's start ...?
Visa-electron is more difficult (and, probably, slow, costly) to process. I think it is up to retailers to decide what cards to accept. If they don't accept some cards it is their decision and they just lose some customers. And you can always withdraw cash and pay cash, besides on-line purchases, of course.0 -
Barclays Business card terminals and electron do not mix, you can only use electron if the customer is present. And guess what barclays are the main provider for card terminals.Kind Regards
