skoda superb - does anyone have one ?
Options
while researching a new car , i've kind of stumbled across the skoda superb and am quite impressed.
I would like to hear any feedback or comments from anyone who owns or has owned one ........ primarily as i can't seem to find one single bad review about this car , is it really that good ?

well basicly its a VW passat, so your getting the reliabilty and build quality of the german car for less money. i would have no problem buying a VW so therfore i would have no problem buying a skoda.0

Not quite the same but I've got an Elegance and before that a bog standard octavia. I would never change, the quality, reliance and value for money and most of all I fell totally safe when I'm driving.
Buy one, you'll never look backI haven't got one!0 -

vw designed a long wheel base version of the passat but shelved the idea. instead all the work went to skoda to produce the superb. u will notice more legroom in the rear compared to a passat.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

I own a fabia and the car is very reliable and well built, can't see why the superb shouldn't live up to it's name-buy one0

We've got an Octavia and are looking to replace are second car with a Fabia. The Octavia is truely the best car we have ever owned/driven. As others have said they are now basically a VW with a different body shell. Go for it you wont regret it for a secondSorting my life out one day at a time0

I've had a Skoda Superb Elegance for 18months now - changed from a Vauxhall Omega 2.2 to the 1.9tdi.
Very impressed - the look on peoples faces when you're at lights or in traffic and they realise its a skoda. Some even point at the badge in amazement.
A lot of the components have either the vw or audio logos on them, so it not cheap czech rubbish.
There's a few things that VW didn't let them put on the superb that you'd find on the passat - split folding seats, closing windows with the remote key fob - but I think some of the newer builds now even have these!
Customer service is much better than Renault or Vauxhall - the 3yr warranty is great. Used it for a stiff boot mechanism, and a rattling sump guard - so nothing major! They even gave me a Octavia vrs to play with whilst they did the work.
Ended up getting mine from a skoda dealer - seemed as good a deal as the car supermarkets.
I'm 6ft 7 and even with the front seats fully back, can still sit comfortably in the back!
Have done a lot of miles in ours recently - French Alps twice - and still think its a comfortable car with lots of extras you wouldn't expect.
If you've any specific questions let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Cheers

got a superb comfort 130 tdi 3 months ago as a replacement for an audi a6 - if you covered up the badges it could be the same car - loads of room, as well put together as the audi and the diesel engine does 50+mpg easily - even better it cost less than half what the equivalent audi was going to cost- also the comfort has loads of gadgets which the audi didnt eg rear parking sensors, 6 cd etc - i would certainly recommend it0

If its for a company car the entry level Skoda engines are quite poor on the emissions.
As mentioned, yes it is effectively a VW Passat but do remember that VW Passat's do have their mechanical problems (like any other car!).
That aside I love my Passat & look forward to keeping it for a long time:D0
