Need a sim only phone

I have just bought glofiish x500, that I have been using with my company sim card.

I have just been told that it is being taken away, so I will need my own sim card to put in it.

Can anyone recommend a good sim only deal? I would imagine that I do not make that many calls or texts, but having a data service would be nice.

Cheers.....

I've been looking into this myself recently, sim only 1 month contracts. Below are some I was looking at.

02 simplicity deals are pretty good.
    £15 200min 400txt
    £20 400min 1000txt

    Vodaphone has
    £20 300min 100txt
    with stop the clock

    orange raccoon
    £25 350min 150txt
with unlimited land line calls any time

T mob has a £7.50/month deal, but there's hardly any minutes with it. (75 I think)

Virgin only does 6 month contracts, not 1 month.

All of the above are 1 month contracts except Virgin, all brought online from the network rather than in store. Orange is online only, they won't do sim only in their stores. O2 is double texts online, shown above.

I think 02 simplicty offers the best deal at the minute for SIM only short contracts, so I'm going to try them. Not sure about data costs as I'm not interested so I didn't bother comparing prices. I think you get only 1 meg free a month on 02.

I think you can also get cashback deals on 02 sim only if you don't mind signing up for 12 months. If that's the case it might be worth getting a handset cashback deal then selling the phone, or keeping as spare.
