Urgent! European flights 1p inc. taxes

Options
What's the deal?

No frills (and I mean no frills) airline Ryanair is offering 1 million free seats to Europe, with many at only 1p each way; most importantly this INCLUDES taxes and charges so this is all you pay (it was £10 but its lowered it further). Flights must be taken between 2 June and 27 Oct 07 excluding school holidays, and you must book before Mon 21 May to get them.

Speedily find the specific cheap flights

In a nutshell, use the FlightChecker, a special free, non-commercial tool I had built to find budget airline special offers. It works by you entering the maximum price you’re willing to pay before taxes and charges, the airports and date range and it finds the flights with you.

For this promotion specifically, select flights UNDER £1; in fact when the results appear you'll only want flights listed as costing £0.01. At that point visit Ryanair and check out the total price including charges.

The system is speedy, but it's not perfect, as there's no hard or fast rule with this promotion; some 1p flights will cost more but if you’re flexible with your dates and the airport you fly from, you’re likely to find a bargain within a few minutes, and it's much much quicker using the Flightchecker than not.

WHEN YOU FIND A 1p FLIGHT...
Please report it by clicking reply to help other MoneySavers.

Which flights are available under this promotion?
  • Book before Mon 21 May for flights at least 14 days ahead.
  • Flights must depart between 2 June & 27 Oct: excluding Fri & Sunday flights, but during July and Aug only Tues & Wed flights are available. All school breaks and major sporting event periods are excluded too.
Flights available include:
  • FROM LONDON: Brussels (Charleroi), Derry, Dublin, Dusseldorf (Weeze), Kerry, La Rochelle, Maribor (Slovenia), Oslo, Turin, Vitoria (Bilbao)
  • FROM EAST MIDLANDS: Derry, Dublin, Knock -Ireland West
  • FROM LIVERPOOL: Aberdeen, Derry, Dublin, Shannon
  • FROM GLASGOW: Derry, Dublin, London(Stansted)
  • FROM NEWCASTLE: Dublin
  • FROM BOURNMOUTH: Dublin, Madrid, Marseille Provence, Nantes (Brittany), Shannon
The promotion details are listed here.

Ryanair charges you to check baggage in!

It’s £10 per item each way if you do it at the airport and £5 if you pre-book. So if possible take hand luggage only. Also, you’re charged handling fees for paying with a debit card (70p) as well as credit cards (£1.75). This is per person, per flight.

  • Stansted to La Rochelle, 13th-17th July, 1p each way, NO TAXES AT ALL.

I booked for 5, with no taxes, so £7 in debit card fee and 10p in flights.

ETA: There don't seem to be any return flights left for the 17th, but there are some available on the 24th - again, no taxes.

This is totally nuts! Do they know what they are doing??

There are NO Credit card fees on this deal either so I am not sure why they are selling so cheap or why counterclockwise said there was a £7 credit card fee??

....surely Ryanair realise that at these nonsense prices:

    PAYMENT DETAILS
    *********0.02 GBP Adult
*********0.00 GBP Taxes, Fees & Charges
*********0.00 GBP Aviation / WCHR Levy
    *********0.00 GBP Car Rental
    *********0.00 GBP Insurance
    *********0.02 GBP Total Paid
(That's the total cost of a return flight paid by credit card!!)

carpet-baggers like me will block book and only use a fraction of the flights booked??

Who knows! I guess it just creates a feeding frenzy and when the daft cheap flights are gone they are gone and then the real prices kick in pretty fast for the latecomers....

Most of the flights Tue - Thur STN-Slovenia are 1p. The deal doesn't start until June 7 to Slovenia.

Like above, it appears no CC fees were added. However, I paid with a debit card just in case, not worth the risk!

If you click on the city in the list it will say which days are applicable, most seem to be Mon-Thurs, so if you're looking for a flight on the weekend, you'll have to still pay the taxes.

    Applicable Days:
    Mon - Thurs
    Subject To Availability
