I have to look and see what I've got in the cupboards and freezer to be sure about what we are having as I dont have a shopping budget for this week - we've reached our £200 limit!

I am thinking of something along the lines of

Thurs had: leftover pasta bake/ fishfingers chip and beans
Fri: Chili and rice (got my mate over so we delayed that from this week)
    Sat: Chicken and Chips
    Sun: meatballs and mash
    mon: pasta something
tues: egg and hm oven chips and beans?
    wed: beef stew
thurs is pay day so maybe a curry out! yum!

rubber chicken is when you roast a chicken and then use the left overs to make it stretch to two or three or more extra dishes - like curry and pie and soup

purpleivy - thanks for the info, tell me more about the cooking of the beans???! sounds interesting and something i havent tried yet. i dont have a slow cooker as i am single and live alone but may get one if i can find a reasonable one somewhere?

hope the falafels aren't deep fried, thats the only thing thats put me off making them in the past!

    Hi again Madge

I soak the beans/chickpeas overnight and then cook in the pressure cooker following instruction book for timing. Then I bag in approx 250gs, cheapy thin ones, and freeze. My first lot I cooked in a pan, can't remember how long they took. If you are going to use beans in slow cooker you need to boil them on the stove first for 10 mins to destroy toxins, this is for kidney beans, not sure which others.
