Nice hotel in Rome please!

im taking my husband to rome for his 30th birthday as a surprise in july. we normally book everything together but as its a surprise its all down to me and although i know he would never complain if the hotel turned out not so good, i want somewhere nice and central, a 4 star preferably. i've done loads of research but am delaying booking because i want to find the "perfect place". anyone got any recommendations?

    Hi Nadnad

I was looking for a good hotel today for a honeymoon couple and my agent recommended the Campo dei Fiori hotel, piazza Campo dei fiori, rome

  • The Morgana (3* trying hard to be 4*) just a few streets from the Termini was very central, our rooms were very nice and staff pleasant. We had a double (king size bed and fab bathroom) and a single occupancy not much smaller (double bed and nice bathroom) Lots of choice for breakfast (usual continental) good range of public areas to have afternoon tea etc. We found it a good choice at a reasonable price. hi

I find tripadvisor is good to get a feel of a hotel I always take the average good/bad views before we book

Have a look at Venere.com - there's loads of reviews and also you can find a discount code for 4% off if you look elsewhere on MSE. There's also a site called CrossPollinate which can do you appartments.
The Termini area is rough round the edges but convenient - watch out for pickpockets, though, esp on the bus route number 64!!!
