But will we be able to safely cancel our subscriptions before that time, since the free trial is only for 21 days?

You can cancel your subscription at any time but it might still take the 28 days to get the voucher. You will still get your voucher even if you have already cancelled your subscription.

    Hope that makes sense!

do the 10 selections have to be made on the same day as opening the account with screen select ? I had put a box set and thought the job was done. 2 days later I got an email saying that I have less than 10. Does this mean that I will not get the voucher ?
Also in what form does the voucher come ? Post or Email ?

I think it shouldn't matter. Make sure there are 10 in there asap and it should be fine. It doesn't specify any time limit as far as I remember.

Edit to say: here's the bit from the t&c, doesn't say anything about a time limit to make your selection of 10. Hope that helps!

The registration process includes providing a current e-mail address, password, home address (so ScreenSelect.co.uk can send out the DVDs), credit or debit card details (to verify identity) and creating a selection of at least ten titles. Only users who have fully completed the registration process to sign up for the free trial will receive a £20 voucher. The £20 voucher will be dispatched within 28 days of registration.

If you need to cancel make sure that your list is empty and any DVD's you have are all sent back BEFORE final date of free trial or you will be charged.
You will be charged if you go over the date even if returns are in the post so send them back in time.

This is a great offer. A DVD retailers website is giving away a £20 voucher to spend on its site when you sign up to its free DVD rental trial - and best of all you don't actually have to pay anything to get the trial, and can cancel at the end of it if you choose to.

    How to get it

Go to DVD.co.uk* and then click the tab at the top of the screen that says DVD Rental (its the second from the left)

    Warning

Sadly if you've used a DVD rental service provided by Screenselect or Video Island (which provides the rental service for DVD.co.uk) before you can't get it but if you haven't, you're quids in.

Your free trial ends 21 days after you've registered or when you've been sent the fifth DVD rental, whichever is the earliest. The offer ends on 6 May.

BIG WARNING: To register you must give your credit or debit card details. If you don't want to continue with the service you must cancel before the free trial period ends. If you don't your card will be debited automatically for the monthly subscription. You can cancel at any time so if you're at all concerned you'll forget, you're better off cancelling early on.

dvd.co.uk are currently doing an offer with screenselect that if you sign up to their free trial in April you get a free £20 voucher to spend on their website.

Doesn't seem to say anything in the t&c about a certain amount spending required or anything.

I can't do it unfortunately as I used screenselect a while back

here is the link if anyone is interested

I signed up a week ago and still havent received my first DVD and it doesnt show up on the site that any have been sent
I'm certainly not going to get anything near 5 free rentals.
With 2 weeks to go I'm going to be lucky if I get to see 2

No sign of a £20 voucher and no mention of it either.

I listed 6 DVD's that I'd like to see and keep getting emails saying i should list at least 20.

Their calalogue is stacked with titles not yet released and TV series
I'm not interewsted in TV series so it takes hours to sift out good movies

I have better things to do with my time

I understood it to be that you MUST have a minimum of 10 choices in your list. They sent my first DVD out the day after I registered and added 10 DVD's to the list. There was then an alert saying my list had to have another one added to it, which I did.

Perhaps you only having 6 choices is why they haven't sent anything to you yet...

For those wondering about returning by recorded post, putting 2 dvds in the same envelope etc, I found this from screenselect:

Please note that sending 2 DVDs back in the same envelope can damage the DVDs as well pushing the weight of the package over the Royal Mail limit which may mean that it will take longer for you to receive your next DVDs.

If you have lost a return envelope please return the DVD in its protective cover to:

    Returns Dept
    FREEPOST (NAT5978)
    LONDON
    NW10 6BR

So that suggests that you can return 2 together, but not in the little paper envelopes that they supply. Does anyone know what the cost would be to post recorded delivery to a freepost address?!

I got my 2 dvds withinn 36hrs of registering :T . No voucher yet tho, but it is probably busy!! They are packed well and they have their own envolopes to be posted back in, its a very good service and you can make it work for you if you can watch them straight away, but I have had mine nearly a week, and still havnt watched one?!?!? !?!?! so its not realy for me . I will cancel shortly, but its been fun, and hopefully I will get my £20 to spend on somethging, I noticed they have BUZZ ps2 game on offer, thaty wonrt cost me anything only my time!!!!!!! :j
  • Be aware, I have changed my subscription from 1 monthly DVD at home to two and I have been charged 9.99. They state in a customer reply that by changing my subscription I have voided the 21 free trial.
