Pork stock?

Hi everyone!
I wonder if you can help me? I've made a big joint of pork in our slow cooker and have stripped the joint of all its meat. But there was quite a lot of liquid left in the slow cooker and I was wondering, is it possible to make a pork stock?
I thought it might be a nice base for a leek and potato soup, or a pea soup maybe? x

Hi spykey,
Yes, you can make pork stock in the same way you would make chicken stock. Pop the bone, the remaining juices and some onion, carrot, peppercorns or whatever you have into either the slow cooker or the pan and simmer gently for at least four hours. Then pass the liquid through a seive and use your stock as a base for soup, casseroles etc as you would with chicken stock. If you are making soup any stray bits of meat you have leftover would be lovely added too.

Pork stock is particularly good for Chinese-style soups - and for split pea soup!"Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0

I make a lovely soup using gammon stock, leftover gammon and lentils. You could try something similar with this stock
