I am really liking pittas filled with chicken and salad for my lunches, but instead of buying the pittas, I would like to be able to make them!
Has anyone done this? and is there a recipie on here somewhere? Did a search but didnt find anything.
Thanks!

heres the recipie I use
1 cup water
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cups strong bread flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp granulated sugar
1 tsp easy blend yeast
place ingredients in bm in order that they would for your machine put on dough cycle
when fineshed knock back on floured surface gently divide dough into 6-10 equal pieces shape into a ball cover and leave to rest for 10 mins pre-heat the oven 230c/450f/gas8 then place 2-3 baking sheets in to heat up
flatten each piece of dough slightly and then roll out into an oval or round about 1/4'' (inch) thick lightly sprinkle each bread with flour cover and leave for 10 mins
place the pittas on heated baking sheets until they are puffed up and lightly browned 6-10 mins place on rack to cool
sounds like a lot of work but it's not and they are so much better than shop bought pitta's
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

I'm not sure if it would work I only have the instructions for a bm but I guess you could do the dough by hand give it a good knead and leave to rise and the follow the instructions from there
I forgot to add they do take a bit of rolling

See what kind of yeast you have, then either mix your salt, sugar and flour together, stir in your yeast, or dissolve your sugar in the hand hot water and stir in the yeast. Leave to froth for about 10 minutes.
Pour liquid into the flour, knead for a few minutes (recipes usually say 10 minutes, but I get bored after about 5 and my bread turns out fine!)
Leave to rise (covered with cling film - I usually spray my dough with a bit of oil to stop it drying out) until doubled in volume. Then follow the rest of the instructions from Mrs_Mix. They are dead easy and much, much, much better than the bought ones.0 -
