Ozone Electronics and the Nintendo Wii

Options
The site www.ozone-electronics.co.uk has now been closed down.

If you have ordered from this company please contact your card issuer and begin proceedings to reclaim the money. They are no longer trading and will not be fulfilling any orders.

There was briefly a message regarding a reason before the hosts took the site down.

Their business premesis went up for auction during last week.

Someone using the same name was buying up wii's from ebay. This has been confirmed to be the same person.

All payment merchants, including streamline nochex paypal and google checkout, withdrew their services from the company.

I know that the site was discussed a lot as they were constantly showing stock for delivery prior to christmas.

If anyone would like links to the information I have found or a more detailed summary please feel free to drop me a message and I would be happy to let you know anything I can.

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

Have a look here. Many more customers who have suffered. Lots of advice too.

  • Looks like a scam to me. ordered 5th Dec, they were quick to take my money & promised delivery 13th -15th December. So the next working day after this, no delivery, I`m getting worried and guess what? The website has dissappeared.

We ordered a Wii from them at the beginning of December…I had a funny feeling that something was up, because when we paid, the site took our money without us having a chance to double check the order. In addition, I noticed at the last minute that the “s” that should have been on the https showing a secure site did not appear to be there...(maybe it was, but I didn't see it, by which time our details had been "sucked up" into the system)

I immediately warned the credit card company (who have been excellent so far) who allowed the money for the wii to go through (at our request), and then we put the wheels in motion to cancel the credit card, as I was concerned about the details getting into the wrong hands..

Normally I check a company out before I purchase online, but Companies House is shut online on a Sunday, and the accounts for Ozone electronics were up to date anyway..

Our credit card company have said that they will send us the docs to claim for a refund…I have been expecting this- I just knew something wasn’t right..

Have emailed the bbc as you suggest
