Recent Orange retention offers
Im coming upto the end of my 12month contract with orange. Im currently on quite a poor and uncompetitive tarriff of 25 pounds a month for 200 free minutes a month. I have over most of the period run up quite large phone bills, the largest of which was around 90 pounds last month. Id like to haggle with orange over a new deal and was wondering what kind of retention deals orange were currently offering as a basis upon which to start my negotiations.
Im looking for more like 500 x-network any time minutes a month and 100 text messages. Im aware that 12 month free deals are available with OSPS and e2save on orange but they tend to be on tarriffs which only give 250 minutes. Id be grateful for any help or guidance on the above.

12 month ago, i was on simular, they gave me 240 mins anytime any number and 30 text for 15 quid, i'm about to re negotiate as they've written to tell me its nearly up and going back to 25, interested also to see what people have got0

investore u should be able to haggle something like Racoon 35 for a discount with a free phone so long as you quote another networks semi feasible tariff and ask for a pac, Orange used to OVP 3 tariffs, so I don't see why they shouldn't do !!!!.0

hi
im in my last month of contract with orange, and i have been offered:
2550 cross network anytime minutes,
unlimited text messages,
one magic number which you can call as long as you want(max 3hrs a day),you can add 1 magic number every 6 months,
free itemised billing,
the phones which they offered were nothing special (nokia 6230i,nokia 6233 and a few others which i cant remember).
the above deal is on a 18 month contract, and for the 1st 9 months line rental is #30 pounds, and last 9 months #35 pounds.
this tariff is called customer relations tariff.
hope this helps.0 -
Customer relations tariff? 2550 xnet mins? unlimited sms? They must be banking on video calls and video messages taking off and becoming popular to be offering that.0

i dont know about that, but thats what ive been offered.
call 150 then option 1,4, then 3 and say you want to leave whats the best deal they can offer you.they should mention the above deal,if they dont ask about the customer relations tariff and ask them to explain fully.
hope this helps.0 -
i am on this tarrif, it the Dolphin 35 with 2000 Minutes Loyalty Reward 18 & Unlimited Text Messages.
The line rent is £35 for me but hey i managed to get a free K800i.
Been trying to get a family member on it but there not having any of it, WHY?
i manged to get on this still being in contract for another 6 months.0 -
I'm currently nearing the end of my £30 (200 mins/ 500 texts) contract. Only been with Orange for one year on a contract, but another 6 or so on top of that as PAYG.
What could I realistically aim for getting?
Not really wanting to spend more than £30 per month, go to a 18 month contract or lose out on mins/ texts. And I want a good, new handset!
Should I hold out much hope?0 -
Hi again all
As far as I understand retensions you are rated with a points system, a kind of matrix, were for instance if you have not been price savvy in the past and your bills have been high, thus ploughing much cash to your provider, you will score highly as there is money in the pot so to speak to offer you huge discount. ( this was once me)
If on the other hand you've been offered a great deal to stay, previously, say 15 pound a month for 240 mins and 60 texts and in a 12 month period you have rarely or never gone over this, you are not as valuable as a customer to keep, hence no money in the pot to subsidise a future good deal. (this is me now)
They'll therefore let you go. (they have, i'm off to the ntl/virgin deal)
I will guess that poster good2talk (true to name) is a high user and has been billed as such, to be offered such a deal0
