National Express £1 funfares are back!
Options
We all remember the dark day when National Express's FunFares went to being "from £1" to "from £5" - a 500% increase!
Well I am pleased to announce that £1 fares have been reintroduced - but only if you go via a special web site. Go via the normal web site and £3 is the lowest fare you'll be offered.
Many £1 fares are available for as soon as NEXT WEEKEND - on Fridays and Sundays as well as the less popular midweek days and Saturdays, in stark contrast to Megabus whose fares for next weekend are now nearly all above £10 each way.
As an example, I have just booked Newcastle to Leeds return for next weekend, Friday to Sunday, for £3 - made up of £1 there, £1 back, £0.50 booking fee, and £0.50 mobile ticket fee. The same journey on megabus would have cost £15 there, £15 back, £0.50 booking fee, and £0.10 mobile ticket fee - 10 times as much!
So if you're looking for a last minute getaway, National Express is your friend this week. It's certainly mine!

It doesn't say that you need to show student ID or anything, I think the student thing is just an excuse to give a different fare#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

but what's gonna happen if they do ask? i'm tempted to use this and was a student until last year, but ain't anymore. very weary. = has anyone used this yet, i've seen our bus station checking students etc before, hence why i'm so weary about it.2008 Wins: 2 x VIP tickets to Ministry Of Sound, Umbrella, Tea Towel, £50 Tesco Gift Card, Amplifier (worth over £1,100 alone).

Hmmmm Im trying to find out if any ID is required. It doesn't say otherwise if you need to be a full time student or not.
Im tempted to book too, but would be a bummer if I turned up and couldnt get on.
Haha I 'look' like a student - maybe that will suffice!0 -
I'm getting it tomorrow. I'll let you know whether they ask for Student ID or not#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

nothing mentioned about having student ID anywhere? just looks like they give you a discount on the £3 funfare price.0

They didn't ask for ID on either the outward or return journey!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET
