Hi Guys!

Yes another weeks worth of meals are due:D This week we are having:

Saturday-Pizza & Salad
Sunday-At sisters (Roast Beef Dinner!)
Monday-Fish, Spuds, Sprouts & Carrots
Tuesday-Toad In Hole, Mini Roasts & Roasted Veg
Wednesday-Red Thai Chicken & Rice
Thursday-Shepherds Pie & Roasted Veg
Friday-Egg, HM Chips & Beans

We have everything in apart froma tin of coconut milk and maybe some more veg and frisge stuff. Have some vouchers to use in Waitrose, so may stock up there this week.

    Sat: out for tea at friends
    Sun: out for tea at sisters (possibly)
    Mon: Prawn omelette
    Tue: Chicken casserole from freezer (for OH - I'll be away)
    Wed: Sausage casserole from freezer (for OH - I'll be away)
    Thur: Gammon steaks
    Fri: Turkey curry (slow cooker)
    Sat: Paprika beef casserole (slow cooker)

    argh - I feel really unorganised this week :(

    tonight, sat and sunday we are just snacking at home inbetween various family gatherings
    monday: slocooker chilli or meatballs
    tuesday: pitta pizza (still havent had it yet!)
    wed: pasta something
    thurs: swimming night so something light on toast or soup and sarnies
    fri: home alone so prob homemade dahl from freezer and basmati rice and curried veggies
    sat: think we are at a party
    sunday: roast - final test of new oven before christmas!

  • :j Here are my menu for the week. I need to get out budget down or we will have to eat well in a tent! I thought it might be a good idea to work out the costs along with the menu !

    lunches are all packed lunches home made bread sandwich, cheapest crisps that they will eat, a piece of fruit, small buscuit or home made cake and squash in bottle. One adult and two children fed for 60p I eat home made soup from left overs- beans on toast. leftovers.

    I go to the market every tuesday and spend £10 on fresh fruit and veg ( have allowed £1.42 to cover) which lasts all week. Also visit the food stall excellent short sell by date cheapies.
    Kids are 9 and 13. They eat strange food, am trying to get them to rehab.

    Today
    kids meal sausage rolls (value and reduced) potato wedges and value beans. Treat day- tesco do-nuts cost £1.04
    Adult meal salmon pasta (using left over value salmon trimmings few sliced leek leaves cream and some free blue cheese on voucher from tesco 55p total for day £3.01 - 75p per person
    Saturday - busy day cat show with my siamese cat, who of course only eats tesco cheap food and looks gorgeous.
    Packet lunch £1.40 includes strawberry jaffa cakes 30p from market
    tea kids (quick meal) value meatballs and pasta half can of sweetcorn, half can value peaches and value ice cream. 77p
    adults sausage rolls 44p( reduced from deli) beans 10p chips 10p peach crumble with other half of can and home made crumble and ice cream 75p
    Total for day £4.43 £1.11 per person
    Sunday
    Lunch husband 20p
    Lunch kids home made pizza 28p

    Mon - Jacket Spuds
    Tues - Pizza
    Weds - Beef in yorkie puds
    Thurs - Chicken Pie, mash & peas
    Fri - Chips

    It was my first week last week & I think I did ok but lots of meal swapping around went on :o so hope to do better this week

    sat - pizza jacket spuds & salad
    sun - roast chicken dinner
    mon - chicken curry
    tues - chicken :rolleyes: stew
    wed - hm hommity pies chips & salad
    thurs - hm leek& potato soup, hm rolls & a pudding
    fri - hot pot

    Spanish omelette
    Sausage and bean hotpot with cheesy mash/crusty bread
    Spaghetti Bolognese (make lasgne at the same time)
    Lasagne with onion and herb garlic bread
    Chicken Curry, rice/chips, chappattis, naans
    Meat and Potato Pie
    Egg and chips/beans on toast etc - snack night
    Leftovers

    i will be having

    sat: veg & chickpea curry (cooked a huge pot today 5 lots for the freezer)
    sun: veg lasange and veggies
    mon: stir fry veg and noodles
    tue: evening work meeting and there will be food
    weds: pasta bake and veggies
    thurs: home made soup (from the freezer) and pitta bread. quick as going out
    friday: stuffed peppers and veg.

    most of the stuff is already in the freezer/cupboard so will only have to buy a few bits and pieces (stirfry, fresh veg etc) should be a cheap week.
    Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"

    stuffed and baked butternut squash
