Vintage Knitwear for Modern Knitters: five free patterns to download
Combine the current vogue for vintage with the craze for knitting and what do you get? A public hungry for old-fashioned patterns they can make at home- you can download five of the book's elegant patterns from The Telegraph's website. The book must be great.
These are ALL lovely- wish I could knit- didn't know where there was a knitting/ moneysaving board if someone could direct me??????

Thanks - I can't knit either but its worth finding someone who can and paying them! As you say all the designs are nice but I 'specially like the first two - when I say can't knit my mum once told me how to knit string disclothes but I couldn't get the hang of it!!!!!!!!!0

These are lovely, thanks! I'm a lapsed knitter- am trying to get back into it again with baby things. More likely to finish them as they're small!! Think there's a knitting thread on the Old Style Moneysaving board.0

I have some old knitting pattern books, so if you really want to cut back on your utility bills, I have knitting patterns for:
lace camiknickers, vests, woollen footlets, socks, ribbed or mesh stockings, as well as scarf & glove sets, jumpers, etc. And, of course, the latest fashion item you must have - a matching bag & glove set! Or if you are off on holiday, a lovely knitted swimsuit!0 -

It was only a joke but I do actually have 4 old books (1930/40) full of patterns, instructions how to knit & crochet & information on stitches, etc.
pm me & let me know what interests you & I will check through the books & see if I can scan the patterns for you.
Anyone else who might want to try knitting, I can let you have the instructions for the basics.0 -
thanks for these.I have just started knitting again after about a 15 year "holiday"
