Does anyone know if this is a good, safe bank? Personally I have never heard of it, but they are offering a bond paying 3.7%.
If there is already a thread on this bank, then I apologize in advance:D

I've used them before for a fixed rate ISA.....they're efficient, reliable, safe and have competitive rates.....can't really ask for much more from a bank in this present climate.....HTH0

Martin seems to think it will worry you less than the Anglo Irish account you had;)

I've an ISA with them and have rung up for an application form for their fixed bond. I like them. The woman on the answerphone sounds old school. Nice.0

Am looking for a fixed rate bond, but re JH and access on maturity, it says on their site,
"Access: On written request by post.".
Why by post? surely this will delay your access to the funds resulting in many days loss of interest!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

OMG - you certainly have a good memory!:D
Just regret now that I cashed in my Anglo Irish account early.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

I remember telling you - several times - to stop fretting! And ignore the doom merchants on the thread. So I thought you had decided to let it continue. Had I realised you had cashed it in early (what was your 'emergency' !!) ....... I wouldn't have joked about it:o
The 7.05% was nice though - particularly as they CHAPS'ed it through the day before it matured! Possibly an apology for the worry? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
