Hmrc tax refund scam

Apols if posted elsewhere, but there is a SERIOUSLY REALISTIC scam doing the rounds...
It looks like an email from the HMRC, (aka the taxman) with realistic looking logos etc, and says you are due a tax refund. You then click on a link and have to input (surprise surprise) your bank details, so they can "process" your claim.
I Googled "HMRC SCAM" and got a link to the real HMRC saying they NEVER inform people of refunds by email, and confirming it's a scam.
DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!!!

Just got one of these.
I hovered the cursor over the link it said www.culturalclassics.com plus some other // etc and words.Believe this is a phishing site-haven't read the whole news story yet0 -
The US English "Sincerely" in the "Jennifer" email sure is a bit of a giveaway0

I just got this email, quite convincing at a glance, typed the email address into google & came up with MSE article about it - Phew! :T for MSE!0

This is doing the rounds again, I just got one, the 'from' address looked plausible but the content is obviously dodgy0

Yes, the tax office have said they never offer refunds by email, and will write to the customers.0

I didn't get one of these emails but if I had I wouldn't have clicked on anything until after I had confirmed it with the HMRC office at the number on my tax return claim. That's what I would do with any request out of the blue that involves my entering bank details online, because I've heard too many scares of this sort.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
