HELP - Promised Delivery Hasn't Arrived!

Hi Folks
This is my first post so please forgive me if it's in the wrong place.
We placed an online order with a well known electrical company just after Xmas and selected a delivery date of 2 January (before noon). After waiting in all day still no delivery............
I then phoned on Saturday to ask what was happening and was told they "didn't know 2 January was a public holiday in Scotland" so they said delivery would be Monday. I said that was no good as we were both back to work so they said they would try for delivery on Saturday 10 January and would phone back to confirm.
No confirmation phone call so hubby (self employed joiner) stayed home on Monday for the delivery. No show. He phoned and was told it would be delivered on Tuesday - definitely. He stayed home again Tuesday and despite making several phone calls to check on progress (and being assured that delivery would be before 6pm) - guess what - no show again! He phoned again today (not a happy bunny by this point) and was told that the delivery company had not been told of the change so the delivery would be Saturday!!!
We'd normally tell them to shove it and get the goods from elsewhere but they were doing the cinema system at half price - a £300 saving - something that none of the other stores are doing.
Any suggestions on what we can do? Surely after 3 days sitting at home waiting for a delivery which hasn't yet appeared we should receive some form of compensation?
Any ideas appreciated.

Who was the company? Are you still waiting? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Make a note of every phone call, who you spoke to, which day, what time, cost of each call, date of each missed delivery. Then write to the customer complaints department detailing the inconvenience, cost to you in time and in money, disappointment with the company. Photocopy any paperwork, phone bills, e-mails and include to prove your point. I got £150 compensation from IKEA for wardrobes that they repeatedly mucked up delivery on - they give a certain amount per missed delivery date and I complained loudly!!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
