Which aerial?

Options
I bought a USB freeview stick but with the aerial it came with I cannot get ANY channels, apart from one if I point it in the direction, but I can't see it properly or hear properly at all, it's that bad quality.

I don't have the money to pay for an outdoor aerial to be set up, would a decent indoor aerial connected to the freeview stick pick up a decent signal?

I'd really appreciate it if you could link me to to something that could do the job which I could buy off amazon..

Thanks..

It all depends on your location. If you are in a stong signal area then an aerial designed to pick up digital will work. Anything less than a strong signal area and it may not.

If the USB stick aerial picks up a signal then it's worth buying a bigger aerial.

I wouldn't really say it picked up a signal I picked up a "hint" of one channel, I could barely see the picture and couldn't hear the sound.

fair enough, but it does show that the signal reaches your area, so for a few quid it would be worth a try with a better aerial.

Try and get one with a signal booster.

Try asking neighbours if they can get freeview with a set top aerial.

If you can, buy it from Argos, if it doesn't work you can take it back.

Yes I know that! The answers are still the same, so why should members type them in again.

  • One thing I don't think has been mentioned is that an indoor aerial is unlikely to work unless it is looking through a window facing the transmitter.

Ashok - look outside and see what direction the rooftop aerials are pointing. Then put the aerial in a window facing that way and see if that helps.
