Has anyone used EUTalk Yet?

Hi All

I am seriously considering signing up for the EUTalk deal that Martin reccomends for those of us who cannot avoid making daytime phone calls. However, this is the first time I have heard of EUTalk and EUPhony and was wondering if anyone has either current services with them or has had dealings with them in the past?

Is their service reliable? What is their after sales like? Is it really worth it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks!

I am on Euphony due to the daytime calls and the international calls included. The deal is great if you make a lot of these calls. However the service is a different matter. They changed their billing system in Dec and they have still not got it right. I have yet to recieve a bill that is correct after 5 months of service and they openly admit now thet there is little chance of getting one. Getting connected was also a marathon which left me on BT for 2 months and they have made errors with Direct Debits taking £94 randomly on one occasion. The staff are frustrated but there is nothing they can do until the system is sorted.

In short I would reccomend you look elsewhere for now.

I signed up for this following Martin's advice in February - it has been difficult for me too. I wasn't switched when they said, i wasn't charged initially and now i seem to be paying much higher monthly bills than i should and then i expected. I wish i stayed with Tesco home phone, at least i got clubcard points!

I was a franchisee for them. They ripped me off. I am in a hurry now but will post more later. The phone service itself I had no trouble with.

If you follow other recommendations here on MSE, you'll be using Euphony only for the calls which are included in your package - and using BT and/or other providers for other chargeable calls - so your bills should not be higher than you expected.

Please see the 'HERE' link in my signature below.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • I subscribed to the eutalk 18 package on recommendation from a friend last summer. I have yet to encounter the issues mentioned here - even though I can call 28 countries for free, I only regularly call friends in the US. I have yet to find a better deal, come on only £1 for the first 6 months?! That's too good to miss out on! I have plugged this deal to all my family and friends - the money I have made from the referrals is just an added bonus!

So you havent encountered the billing errors due their new system, the late delivery of bills recently due to their courier, or their excessively long times to answer due to these problems mounting up.Which by the way their helpful staff freely admit, and apolgise profusely for.

Lets hope they have now got on top of the matter.

Well, I have not had the need to call nor have noticed any errors. I pay by direct debit and know I am only paying for the monthly fee as all my calls are free. In all the time I have been a customer, one delay in receiving a bill is unlikely to rattle my cage!

Your calls are not free because you pay for them in your monthly plan whether you use them or not.

Their have been other complaints see here :

and i understand some Eire Customers have not been happy with their bills and service .

EU Talk 18 is only a good deal if you make more then 30 peak calls a week, unless you call one or more of the overseas destinations. Then of course theirs the 18 month contract.:D

To be honest, the points which you are make do not relate to my original posting. I said I made regular calls to the US (about an hour a week) and the monthly fee is only £1 (as far as I am concerned MY calls are free!). And, what has Eire got to do with the price of rice...err I mean my calls?

Let me reiterate, I have yet to encounter any issues and am happy with the huge savings I am making. Following from your note, I have surfed the web and have not found any bad press about Euphony whereas with Talk Talk, my PC nearly went into meltdown. I have a contract with my mobile phone so having one with my landline is not really a shock to the system. Paying a nominal service fee for unlimited calls to the States has resulted in a very satisfied customer here!

(In the words of Trevor McDonald)...And finally....

My postings are based on MY personal experience as a Euphony customer and not hearsay :p
