I have just started selling there and would appreicate others opinions. Seems ok - No fees, very similar to Ebay, set up in the UK.
Any Thoughts ?

You know something ... If people were even contemplating using eBid, I'm pretty sure they'd avoid it now!! Whatever your plan is .. it's backfiring spectacularly (sp?) ... carry on!0

To be fair I would like to know about ebid as things seem to be going quite cheap there.... :x Don't mean to take sides but anyone got an opinion of the site?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I have been listing unsold ebay items on ebid to see what happens. (Possibly not a fair trial as, obviously, what I sold on ebay might have sold on ebid.) I got fed up a while back and took them all off and tried them on Tazbar. Absolutely no sales on either. Some peeps were saying that ebid was a bit better now so I did another about turn - nothing. Until this evening - Yikes! 5 items have bids, albeit by the same bidder, and albeit very cheap items.
Still, it could be the start of some feedback - always the stumbling block when starting on any of these sites!
So, basically, if you treat ebid as a parking place, you have nothing to lose and might just get lucky - but don't hold your breath (yet).0 -
I have tried ebid as I thought it was worth a try and basically it was a waste of my time and effort.
I was selling a line of items on ebay and managed to overstock, so these were items that sold, not junk or left overs. On ebay at the time i was selling at a start price of £4.99 and paying 20p to list, and usually selling at around the £6 mark.
Those same items were listed on ebid at £3.99 in an effort to get rid of some of my stock without flooding ebay and lowering my price there. In two attempts to sell half a dozen items not only did I get no bids, but...my counter showed only 1 view on each item and I assume that was me! So whilst I didn't lose any money I did waste a good few hours listing and making sure my auctions looked nice. Those same items sold first go on ebay later that month.
The OP asked for views and mine would be that ebid is not worth even the time to look at it, don't bother.
As for Tazbar, since I found out from reading another thread that they state they have no buyer protection..I would also suggest avoiding them as well purely on a safety issue.
I say it every time anyone asks but free listing is not a great idea. All that happens is that people list rubbish as they have nothing to lose and so once a site gets a reputation like that it loses the big sellers who won't risk their items going unseen among the pages and pages of unsold goods. Look at what happens on a cheap day on ebay, how many of us listed things yesterday that we normally wouldn't bother with just because the fees were only 10p?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Not listed on Ebid but "parking" a few of my plants on Tazbar till its time to put them on Ebay. Nothing to lose really, not xpecting great/any sales but they seem a friendly enough bunch. At least they do not allow e-books and this sort of thing, don't know about photo's of Picasso paintings though.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I had an email on one of my listings spamming this site, the sender claimed that they had sold loads of stuff on there but when I checked they hadn't sold that much at all if anything, so I don't think I'll be using it.0

I think any site that attracts spam is desperate and I tend to avoid.

What's the problem with ebooks. They are a legitimate product sold on Amazon and Barnes and Noble etc.
PS I am not an ebook seller but have bought a few.0
